Review summary

Never again customer service was poor! From the state room to just about all of the bartenders. It started with check in boarding the agent was short and acted like I was doing her a favor by being there. Customer service is what makes your cruise memorable so you want to come back for another cruise on Norwegian but that didn't happen.

state room attendance gave very poor service. Plus just about all of the staff through out the cruise was rude and not helpful.

Heather I agree, that was my experience on the Getaway last year. That is what me book the cruise this year. But that was before the drink packages promotion was in place.

Went last year on the Getaway and have nothing but good thing to say about the ship and the workers! They were fantastic!!

I cruised MSC Divina in 2014 a beautiful ship...just keep in mind it's cruising Italian style down to the food..but I loved it a tasty of Italy

I agree with very disappointed we were on the Getaway before NCL started offering the drink package promotion. In February we were on the Star. What I can say is I had the exact same experience as the original post. The bar staff no longer hustle behind the bar because they make less money in tips. The same for the waiter and other service staff. On of the negative side effects of the drink package and it makes sense the staff can drag their arse and still make the same money that they would if they hustle. If NCL and others managed their people this would not be the case. I even had a bartender in the buffet bar tell me that if I wanted a mojito that I should go to the mojito bar. Which BTW had lousy hours and was located within the steak house. To insentify service again there will have to be a change, like NCL giving 15% pay bonuses per day for people served is one option that would help. Until then sadly the service has slipped significantly. Hopefully they do something before people jump ship to other cruise lines. I preferred RCL until I was on the Getaway, now after the Star experience I am trying MSC in a few weeks, then back to RCL in the fall on the Oasis. Norwegian will have to earn me back.

I sailed last year Sept was amazing from beginning to end sorry to hear your trip wasn't as good sailing in the getaway this Sept...

Wow thts sad I've been on this ship and the entire experience was awesome from start to finish I recommend this cruise line for a great vacation and customer service always top notch, food awesome, room Stewart was the best ever, nothing bad to say about this ship, were on it again in june, luv Norwegian getaway hope your next cruise is better cruising is the ultimate vacation

I'm with bullmastifmom! We were getting off the Getaway on April 3rd....most relaxing cruise I have ever been on! Bartenders and waitstaff were awesome and our room steward was fantastic! Lots of stuff to do...or not if that's what you like. Mojito bar was the bomb and we spent lovely evenings on The Waterfront...

I was on the Getaway on April 3rd and, we had a great time with excellent customer service. Our check in agent was all smiles and very chatty. We had an awesome time. As far as NCL goes, we've been on the Getaway 3 times ,the Escape once, the Epic 4 times and the Pearl once and we've never had a bad experience. I'm sorry you you didn't enjoy your cruise, that really does stink. I just wanted to put our experience out there so not to deter or discourage anyone else from going. I hope everyone has a great time ;)

That's too bad. I have read such amazing things about this ship. We cruised last year on NCL and loved it. Cruisin in a few weeks on this one and can't wait.
