Review summary

The theater is too small, to hold shows for everyone.  You had to book in advance the time you wanted to go.  I am not on vacation to worry about times and dates I booked a show. We booked shows then could not remember when.  I wanted to see the shows, but could not because I couldn't remember when.  On Carnival, you just showed up.  Also when the captain was making an announcement, you could not hear.  The music continued and the people in the gift shops were too busy promoting their merchandise, to listen to the captain or cruise director.  Carnival always has a big sale on their tee shirts, for $10.00.  The Getaway did not.  $20.00 for a tee shirt, is too much.  We had four sea days, which was too much.  I thought the cruise director would have come up with some activities or have a great gift shop sale, other than jewelry to make up for the unexpected sea day.

Not enough geared to the older crowed. I tried to participate in an activity an the cruise director looked at me like he was shocked, In fact he had a surprise look on his face.

Take your own chairs. You will pay for a chair to sit on the beach. You will also pay extra to sit in the shade. Not many choices on beaches.

Was a surprise for everyone. The cruise director didn't know, neither did other staff, so they wouldn't have been able to set events for that day, as they didn't know about it. I am sorry you thought so lowly about NCL. But I feel you should have just payed attention more.

You could have just walked in the theater without booking a show. Also, it was your job to remember when the shows were. They are on the Freestyle Daily, and you could view your reservations/booked shows us in the TV in your stateroom. No one on the ship is forcing you to buy something. Also, near the ends of the cruise, they have a 2 for $20 t-shirt deal. Also, the unexpected sea

I see you were on the cruise before mine so you did in fact have 4 sea days. However the 4th unexpected sea day was due to the hurricane. I'm not sure what else you expected them to do?

You had 3 sea days not 4. If you can't read the itinerary before booking I don't think cruising is for you.

So Janet, was there anything you did like about the cruise that we're looking forward to? You were on Vacation ya??? YOU forgot your show times and you're upset with NCL? REALLY??? If $20 is too much for a t-shirt, guess what.....Don't buy one!!!!!!! 🙈 Maybe you should stick with Carnival!

We didn't make reservations for shows that "booked up" and had no trouble at all getting in on stand by. Every show had empty seats even after stand by was let in. If you want to make reservations and have a schedule, you can. If not, you can still see everything spontaneously. Also, your reservations are easily viewable on stateroom tv, along with any info from the bridge that the captain would announce.

Recently off the Getaway and we thought it was amazing. We planned ahead for dinners/shows which we did from home, to me that was part of the excitement of planning and looking forward to the cruise. Once we were onboard we had nothing to reserve because we did it all beforehand. No stress at all. We took a paper with our schedule and also put the times in our phone. Thought it was very organized.

You blame NCL because you didn't get to see the shows. I'm sure the performers were there, right on schedule. YOU forgot to show up. That's YOUR fault, no one else's. It's amazing how everyone is so quick to blame everything on the cruise lines. Guess it's a good thing you remembered when to get on the ship.
