Review summary

I thought the ship was too big. And anything you wanted to do you had to pay for. And special dinning was not worth the extra money was not pleased .And we did not go in to Nassau because of the storm and I feel we should have been compensated something like maybe a credit on our account .Because they did not give us anything on the ship .Shopping was terrible only expensive jewelry I have been on the Dawn and liked it a lot better.

Yes, I agree, but only did we all book during hurricane season, but we booked in the height of it! Great trip, Loved the hurricane! We rocked it out Caribbean style! Come on, how many people can say they cruised through a hurricane? Check out my pics to see our ship in the hurricane on a map, is pretty cool! Getaway is a great ship! Crew was fabulous! ;)

You were compensated, each of us were! We each got $25 in OBC. For us, that was $100, we had 2 staterooms. I believe they were supposed to give us back a small portion of our port charges back.

I went on the Getaway September of '14, no complaints of the cruise ship honestly. I'm just not a fan of the "freestyle cruising", that was new to us, but we still had a blast!

Well said dcaland2001. I totally agree with your comment.

We didn't have a hurricane 2 weeks ago but we're still dissatisfied. We are trying the Dawn in February

I do not understand why you feel you needed to be compensated for not making a port. I would assume you knew when you booked the cruise that it is hurricane season and so you do take your chances. I'm sure you don't want them to take a chance just so you get to go to a port. Safety should always be the first priority, whichever way you travel - land, sea or air. If it isn't I would not want to give them my business. Hope you were able to enjoy the rest of your cruise

True. thats good they got their port fees back. I would of thought that was lost too. That's the risk of taking a cruise, as msarno629 said.

we did get port fees back, almost immediately as well as excursion fees. risk of cruising during hurricane season.

should of gotten port fees back so ce you didn't make port. but that's just a few dollars.

I agree!

You don't get compensated on weather related issues, airlines or cruise ships, as it's not their fault. That would be millions a year for bad weather?

The weather is never stable until at least November.
