Review summary

We went on the Getaway end of September/beginning of October. We had beautiful weather, warm and sunny. The ship was incredible! So much to do. My husband and I are in our mid 30s and very active and loved the ropes course, rock wall, running track, basketball court and gym. There were lots of fun activities on board, which made the at sea days fly by. The crew is all very friendly and helpful. The food was really good. We loved being able to order room service for free. The crepes at the dinner buffet became a regular nightly routine. We ate dinner in the Flamingo a few nights and enjoyed the dancing and band. We mostly ate at the buffet, since it was so good and we almost always were able to get a window seat. We did a short Bahamas cruise with our 4 kids before on a Carnival ship and I thought the food was better on the Getaway. The ports were fun stops. We went to Mullet bay in St. Maarten, which was gorgeous. We did a discover scuba trip in St Thomas, which was awesome. We had a balcony, which was great. There were lots of activities for families too and my kids are begging to go with us next time. Overall a great experience.

Good size room. Liked having the couch to lounge on, but it is very hard. Not sure how an adult could sleep on it comfortably, as it is the third "bed" for the room.

Mullet Bay was gorgeous. Skip Airplane beach, no sand and you can see the planes from Mullet bay without going deaf.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

Did disover suba with Blue Island Divers, which was great.

We had been here before. I recommend Blue Lagoon and their dolphin swim.
