We think this is a worthwhile cruise and would recommend this as a great chioce to get out of the winter weather!
Embarkation
5 out of 5
From stepping out of the car that dropped us off to stepping foot on the ship it was 15 minutes...amazing!
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
I would say the food was good to excellent depending the where you ate. The Asian resturant was possibly our least favorite.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The entertainment was excellent from the Magician, to the Comedian, to Blazing Boots - no complaints at all. There was also a solo Saxaphone player who was good but I am not sure he was main stage material as it is almost a very specific niche.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Everyone was very attentive and we we wanted for nothing
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
We really liked the ships layout not too big not too small. It had a more intimate feel than the larger ships. It was very easy and quick to walk from one area to another. The Spinnaker Lounge is a good hang out area during the day and evening.
Cabin / Stateroom

Ship tip
Try all the bars and restaurants! Pack a smile and have a wonderful time!
We took the hop on hop of bus - DONT. With the traffic in Cartagena taking the hop on hop off bus is not a good idea unless you have the whole day in port. We were there for 6 hours it would not have been long enough. The old town is worth a visit. The street vendors are tenacious, just politely say no thank you and they move on.
We really enjoyed the time through the lock and found it very interesting. Someone behind me said it was boring clearly not a cruise for her! We chose to stay on the ship for the duration, there were trips offered but we wanted to experience the locks. We felt it was a good choice.
BEST port, so many things to do and see...we hope to go back one day! Any excursion would probably give you a good view of Costa Rica. We took the train, river walk tour and saw so much wild life including a sloth with its baby!
For us Cozumel is Cozumel it is very touristy not our thing but still okay. We took a private trip with Trikes of Cozumel, it wasn't as good as Trikes Aruba but still made an excellent choice of seeing the island under a different transport mode and there was only the two of us and they still ran the trip.
We had friends pick us up and so disembarked last. It was smooth however a little long once we got into the customs area as they were checking every passport but that is not NCL's fault.
