This cruise was fun and entertaining; a good way to experience the south caribbean without spending a lot of money. I highly recommend it.
Embarkation
3 out of 5
Short delay at the boat terminal. Ship was not ready until after 1pm. However, crew brought drinks and sandwiches around to guests.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Food was good; ship ran out of white zinfindel wine before cruise was over.
Maltings Beer & Whiskey Bar
5 out of 5
My husband and his friend enjoyed two different whiskey tastings at this bar. Both were informative and tasty. The bar tender really knew a lot about the whiskey he was serving, and did not skimp on the pours. Based on what was served, and consumed, this was a real value on the ship!
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Fitness Center was first rate. Really enjoyed the spa.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Entertainment was outstanding! Best I've ever seen on a cruise. The only show that was not first rate was the Chris Burke show, and unfortunately it was shown on two nights. The show band was fantastic. Cruise Director was engaging and entertaining.
Children's Programs
I did not bring any children on board.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Our room steward, Victoria was wonderful. She answered our every need promptly and curtiously. Our room was always fully stocked and freshly made up. After our first experience with our waiter, Winmac, we continued to request him every night. He was so friendly and attentive. He always made us feel welcome and saw to our every need. Great smile and personality. He made our dinner experiences a real joy.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The only negative about the ship was the "crooked" route to get to the cabins on deck 8. I also did not enjoy the casino, since patrons are allowed to smoke. Smoking is not healthy for the employees of the ship's casino, or the patrons! Everything else was great, clean, and well maintained.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Bed was comfortable. Cabin was always clean and well maintained. For an interior cabin, the shower was quite large; a pleasant surprise.
Ship tip
Bring cards, and or card games. The game room was almost always full, especially on sea days.
We took an excursion, sightseeing tour around the island. The trip was excellent. The driver definitely made the trip. He was so friendly, informative, and entertaining. The van was air conditioned and very comfortable.
We took an excursion to the Harrison's Cave. Trip was great, but we had a long wait to get into the cave. This is a government run facility, and it seemed very disorganized.
Once on the island, we scheduled a boat ride out to the Pitons, with a stop at a small town. Ride was fun. Good value, much cheaper than excursions offered by the ship.
We rented a taxi and took a trip to the highest point on the island. Views were amazing. Trip was very inexpensive and driver was informative and friendly.
