Review summary

I was not sure how I would feel about so many days at sea but it was great! This cruise exceeded my expectations. The next time though I will chose a cruise where you stay in a port more than a few hours. It makes it hard to really see the island when you have to be back on the boat by late afternoon.

Embarkation

The embarkation process was very slow. There were lots of port employees standing around talking rather than assisting travelers. After waiting on line for a long time we had to sit in the waiting area for our number to be called. It took a couple hours to board.

Food and Dining

The Grand Pacific main dining room was beautiful and the service was excellent. The Magenta main dining room left a lot to be desired, the décor was not up to the standard of the other restaurants, the service and the view were not very good. We went there once because there was always a line there but could not understand the appeal. The specialty restaurants were all very good.

We spent a lot of time in the spa, it was so peaceful and relaxing!

We purchased the spa package as soon as we go on board. It was well worth it! The mineral pool was nice because it was not as crowded as outside and there were no kids running around!

Entertainment

We went to the shows most nights after dinner and before going to the casino. The shows were pretty entertaining.

Spinnaker Lounge

This was our favorite place to go in the evening after the show in the theatre, we enjoyed getting a drink, enjoying the view and the game show type entertainment.

The staff was friendly and attentive. we had a great cabin steward!

I am very picky about cleanliness and I was very pleased with the cleanliness of the ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

We had a mini suite. For two of us traveling the space was fine. My only criticism was that there were not outlets near the bed for charging our cell phones which we also use as our alarm clocks.

Ports of call

St. John's, Antigua

We went on the Sting Ray excursion on Antigua. It was really fun. My only complaint was that the travel to and from the venue was as long as the time that we spent with the stingrays.

Castries, St. Lucia

We did the catamaran excursion on St. Lucia. It was a nice way to spend the day.

Basseterre, St. Kitts

As soon as you get off the ship there are men that come over and hand you tiny monkeys and grab your cell phone to take pictures. They charge you $20 to get your phone back. We expected that we would tip them but thought that $20 was too much especially since they took the photos on our phone. But we wanted to get out phone back with out a hassle so we paid the price.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

We took the sea turtle excursion and the catamaran and crew were great but there were no sea turtles! The captain said that he took us to another cove because the visibility was not good but there really was nothing much to see in the cove that they took us to. This excursion was not worth the price.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5

The embarkation and the disembarkation were the most difficult times on the trip. Seems like there must be a more efficient way to do it.

Glad you had a good cruise. Check out a cruise to Bermuda. We went two years ago and will go again this year. Can not wait.

Take a peek at a Bermuda cruise..... stays in port 3 days / 2 nights and really allows you to enjoy the island and the amenities on the ship.
