Review summary

One great feature of this cruise is the number of days at sea, if you like being at sea (which we do). We had a large, aft-facing suite so we could hang out away from the crowds and enjoy the view of the ocean and the ship's wake. We were a little disappointed at the size of the balcony on our suite. On the Dawn, a similar suite has a much larger balcony, so on the Gem we felt crammed into a smaller space when we were out on the balcony. In fact, we hardly ever spent time together on the balcony: there just wasn't enough room. Our time in port at each of the four ports we visited was limited, especially at Tortola, but the shore excursions made the most of the short time. The ship has an excellent fitness center and the Great Outdoors bar/restaurant on the fantail was very nice, although that made it very popular and crowded.
