Great Cruise

Sail Date: May 15, 2010

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

Well laid out, organized and very clean. Service wasn't great but acceptable. The food in some of the specialty restaurants was very good, especially the French restaurant. It was nice to have a wide variety of restaurants and no assigned seating or seating time. The spa was wonderful.

Pros: Balcony room; quiet sunning area for adults; french restaurant

Cons: Cabin attendant service; crowds

Shopping in the walled city is not to be missed. The restaurants serve fresh seafood that is wonderful. Great photo opportunities of the coast line.
Don't Miss: Walled city
Piraeus (Athens), Greece
The city itself is very noisy and crowded but there is good shopping in the old time area of the city, which is visited by many of the tours. And of course, the ancient ruins are not to be missed.
Don't Miss: Ancient ruins
Nafplion (Nauplion), Greece
There is lots and lots of shopping and restaurants. Wonderful port to walk around and take in the beautiful views and interesting artifacts. It's a nice hike to the fort at the top of a hill with fantastic views.
Don't Miss: Shopping
Izmir, Turkey
Beautiful country side and great restaurants; the pita bread is fantastic. Although it costs more, we recommend taking a private tour of the ancient sites rather than a large group tour. There were four of us and we had our own van with driver and English speaking guide. We learned a lot more than we would have from a large group tour.
Don't Miss: Ancient ruins and the shrine to the Virgin Mary located about an hour away from the port.
