Review summary

I was not satisfied with guest services due to us being cash payments. They called us from our room and stated we have to pay our balance during day three or else all our cards will be deactivated and we will only have access to our rooms only. I’ve cruises many times before and I’ve paid my balance the day before disembarking and we were informed that we could not do that and would have to pay the balance before to guarantee we can pay for our services. Very unprofessional l. They also told me I could not receive my $50 credit for touring the islands because I did not book through the cruise line.

Even if you have a credit cars on file, if they need to run through another authorization because you exceeded the amount of the first one and it is declined, they will call you down to guest services to handle the issue. If you exceeded initial cash deposit, the same concept applies. The cruise line has no idea how much cash you have.

As others stated, the shore excursion credit is for their excursions. Why would you expect NCL to give you money off someone else’s excursions? I’d be shocked for anywhere that wouldn’t require a cash deposit if you don’t have a credit card on file. That’s very standard.

You get a $50 excursion credit only when you book it through the ship. No excursion - no credit. It's explained on the website.

Too many complaints about not getting OBC promised by the phone booking companies. You HAVE to double check all your paper work and if your line does it, check your OBC on the website. All too often they promise stuff and then “forget” to include it. As far as cash up front, I always though you had to deposit a certain amount before your trip?
