It wasn’t great but it wasn’t horrible. We will not sail Norwegian again because we know there are other lines that suit our preferences better. This is my opinion and if it suits you than great!
Embarkation
3 out of 5
This was our first Norwegian Cruise and for being our first Cruise since the pandemic, it wasn’t horrible
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
The food was mediocre at best. We went to most of the specialty restaurants and they were also mediocre.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
There is a lot to do on the Escape but because there are so many people you probably won’t do half of it. The pool was so packed we didn’t even go on the pool deck.
Entertainment
2 out of 5
Because you have to reserve your seats for shows and such we only went to one, it was ok, personally we thought it was a little tasteless.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Crew were friendly, bar tenders were not however.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
This wasn’t the dirtiest ship I’ve been on but not the cleanest either.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
I actually loved the size of the cabin and the bathroom was great!
Ship tip
If you like carnival but want something a little more upscale than you will like Norwegian. It was not that relaxing as people let their kids run like feral chickens. We have cruised with Princess, Holland America, and Carnival and personally Norwegian falls In between Holland and Carnival.
We did the earlier disembarkation and carried our own bags off and it was busy, and despite crew telling people not to congregate around deck 7, it was still packed
Thanks for sharing your cruise , but any cruiseline over spring break is going to be crowded and packed . We have been on the escape three times and had a great cruise everytime..
This was your first post-pandemic cruise, apparently. Try going on the same lines you went on pre-pandemic and you’ll see how things have changed. I see you’re going on Equinox later this year. Went on her pre-pandemic and then again last July. It was like we sailed on a different ship, and not in a good way. A lot has changed in the industry.
Glad you enjoyed it. I’m not sure I would judge an entire cruise line based on one cruise during spring break. Those are usually overcrowded with lots of families with kids.
