Review summary

On the whole we had an amazing time. There were definitely people with covid on board as many people were coughing and spluttering. The covid protocols seem to be much more relaxed now.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Extremely efficient and quick. The whole process took about half an hour.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Speciality restaurants very good, especially Cagneys and Le Bistro. Main dining was very repetitive, buffet was excellent for breakfast and lunch, not so good in the evening.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Plenty of activities throughout the day.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Choir of man was excellent.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Amazing staff, all very friendly and helpful.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship was spotless however there are not enough outside spaces to relax. The most part of the outside decks are taken up with ropes course and slides and childrens pool area. It was rather like a zoo on sea days. We spent extra on Vibes Beach Club which was worth every cent we paid. The spa are was also amazing.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cabin was a spa balcony mini suite. It was spacious with ample storage and the bathroom was extra large with a lovely spacious walk in shower. The bathroom was spotless.

Ship tip

If you are somewhere warm, spend extra on the Vibes beach club.

Ports of call

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

3 out of 5
Civitavecchia itself hasn’t got a lot to offer. We stayed overnight to be in plenty of time for the cruise however, Rome is an amazing city which is impossible to see in one day. It is about 1 hour and 20 minutes away from the port.

Piraeus (Athens), Greece

5 out of 5
Loved Plaka, a village at the foot of the acropolis. Lots of things to see there and many shops to explore. Didn’t do the Acropolis as it is at the top of a hill with no shade and had already seen it on a previous cruise.

Naples, Italy

4 out of 5
Not easy to get from ship to town because of building work near the port. The old rustic part of town has its charm and is very natural with its narrow streets and hustle and bustle of everyday life. In contrast the newer side of town is like any other town. Did not do an excursion as had already done pompei on a previous occasion and various other tours. Naples is not the cleanest of Italian ports.

Santorini, Greece

4 out of 5
Beautiful island although I didnt see the logic of being tendered to the old port and then being taken to the new port to get on a bus to go up the hill. The distance to both pirts was the same. There were far too many people although the island is very pretty.

Valletta, Malta

5 out of 5
Beautiful and so much to do. Ship docks in the town centre and is easy to get an Uner to the places you want to go to. Lots to do and see, one day is not enough.

Messina, Sicily

5 out of 5
Went to Taormina, was a beautiful little town with some interesting shops to explore and lovely views of Mount Etna. Enjoyed this town a lot.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Good, although we didnt want to disembark!!
