Review summary

I would definitely cruise again with NCL. What happen to this cruise is a fluke. Hopefully they learned their lesson though on how to handle a mass evacuation. Don’t think I will ever go back to DR though. Not worth it.

Embarkation

It was raining pretty hard at Port Canaveral and our luggage got wet. We did also. Don’t know why they didn’t have tents up. The weather was expected. The power went out so it took longer then normal to board. Should have been our first Inkling

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food was great. Steaks were exactually better in Manhattan Room then Cagneys but the rest of my party wanted lobster tails. For the time we were in the ship the food was very good.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
We did not get to enjoy much because of the cruise being cancelled in the Dominican Republic. The ropes course was closed so we missed doing that. As well as the mini golf.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Choir of Men was excellent. As well as Howl at the Moon. Those guys need a bigger venue. We went back 3 times and squeezed in. Loved them. That’s all we got to see.

Children's Programs

No kids with us.

Service and Staff

Everyone was fantastic. They went out of their way to serve us and take care of our needs.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was spotless. Design was very easy to navigate. Doesn’t hurt though that we’ve been on her 3 times.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Size was ok. Perfect for 2. More might be tight. Had joining room with other family member so that helped.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic

Pool area and sand was nice. Very expensive to drink. Kids went to feed monkeys $25 for 30 minutes. That’s all we got to do because ship hit sand bar and they had to fly us all home. That was the nightmare part. Can’t fault the crew during the cruise. It was this part that was horrible.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas Did not visit port

They cancelled us and flew his home because of damage to ship

Tortola, British Virgin Islands Did not visit port

Same as above

Great Stirrup Cay (Cruise Line Private Island), Bahamas Did not visit port

Disembarkation

When we got to MCO we had to wait forever for luggage. Then had to board buses to drive to port Canaveral. Very dark but we were the lucky ones. Free parking due to all the issues. Others had it much worse.
