Review summary

I really enjoyed this ship & itinerary. The sea days were relaxing and there was plenty of seating at the pool. The excursions and port shopping were also good experiences. I would do it again. I would also sail with Norwegian's other cruises as well.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
It was a little long - about an hour and twenty min. wait. No seats. Even though you signed up for an embarkation time, there was no attempt to honor that time. Not a terrible experience.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food was very good and the service was excellent. Didn't frequent the buffets much, but the few occasions I did, the food, service and cleanliness was a very high quality.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Seating at the pool area was plentiful and much of it was shaded. Fitness center was average, but there was enough to do there. There were ropes, slides, mini golf, basketball, etc. Didn't really use these.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Top quality. Lots of variety. Two Broadway-type shows available, supper club, comedy, lounge music.

Children's Programs

No kids.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Loved the staff! They really make your on board experience a pleasure.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Very clean, new-looking, continually maintained. The only negative - the central public areas are all open to the casino so there is a pervasive odor of cigarette smoke.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
A little small side-to-side and the entrance way too small to easily pass through with luggage or a backpack. Awkward for room service staff to enter with tray. Bathroom/shower were roomy.

Ship tip

It's a LARGE ship with a lot of people. You won't be able to find much alone time (except in your cabin). There is a lot to do on board.

Ports of call

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

We did the private island. Good lunch. Okay beach. A little pricey for what it was, Didn't leave the port area afterward (we should have tried).

Harvest Caye, Belize

2 out of 5
Be prepared for your stop at Harvest Caye (Belize). Excursions from here are difficult (long days out with not much food available). It is more "Disney" than Belizean. It seemed to me to be Norwegian's attempt to keep you on their island where you had to pay for food, drinks, etc. Difficult to get over to the mainland and the excursions were not appealing.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

5 out of 5
Loved everything about it. Took the Catamaran/snorkeling excursion. Fantastic experience. The little beach town is exactly what you picture an unspoiled Mexican beach town to be. Any restaurant on the beach will have unbelievable sea food.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
Went on our own. Rented a jeep and a guide. Went over to far side of island for beaches and food/drinks. A highlight of the week.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Efficient, quick and smooth.
