Review summary

The excursions did not live up to our expectations, but I can't blame NCL for that. The ship, the crew, the entertainment, food and drinks were all exceptional and I will not hesitate to book another cruise with NCL. They were very organized, helpful when we needed help and very sincere and friendly. Even traveling with a nine month old and an 80 year old (which worried me at first) was made into a terrific experience by the NCL staff....I cannot give them a higher recommendation.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Everything was very organized and the lines moved swiftly from start to finish

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Both were outstanding - tons of variety and locations to try out!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Dozens of choices from sedate to active - whatever you felt like doing - or doing nothing!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Saw three shows on board - one was better than the next!

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
We had my 9 month old grandson with us and the childrens' program, even for his age was phenomenal...They were absolutely wonderful with him and he had a blast!

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Bartenders, waiters, everybody was friendly and helpful. Had to request things like extra towels and linens several times before they got it right, but all in all that is not much to complain about.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Amazing and spotless...

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The balcony was great and even with music blasting off the rear deck (on our level) the cabin was quiet when we wanted it to be.

Ship tip

The back of the ship is "Adults Only" on deck 17 from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM. It has two hot tubs and a water grotto to keep you cool. Get there early if you want a deck chair or sit by the bar that is back there...

Ports of call

Miami, Florida Did not visit port

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

3 out of 5
Spent the time "in town". VERY commercial. If you like shopping for $5000 watches you'll have a blast. If you want to interact with the locals or walk around without someone trying to drag you into a store to buy jewelry, not so much

Tortola, British Virgin Islands

4 out of 5
Tortola and Cane Garden Beach was beautiful. Much less touristy and much quieter. Only complaint is the roads to get to the beach are worth your life - open sided safari vans, 4 foot wide roads and hairpin turns all the way there. I grew up in NYC and thought their wasn't a taxi driver in the world that could scare me - Tortola proved me wrong

Nassau, Bahamas

2 out of 5
Maybe unfair to judge a whole island by on experience, but we wanted a beach we could walk to from the ship. The only one was called Junkanoo Beach, "Junk" being a very apt description. It was dirty and dangerous. Lots of broken glass on the beach (beer bottles) so you couldn't even take your shoes off safely. Beach was poorly maintained and had a very industrial feel to it. Lots of seaweed and soft coral made swimming unpleasant....Next time we'll take a taxi cab to a different beach but this one is off the list

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Very well organized and very efficient. Luggage was waiting for us when we disembarked and the walk to the transfer shuttles was easy. Great job by NCL.
