Review summary

Too many slide and not enough pools. Food is only fair and the extras a extremely overpriced. Must use key card in the room to turn on room lights and power. Unfortunate, I forgot my key in the lights switch and locked myself out of my room a few times. Bad design. The shows are mediocre, almost cheesy. I've been on many cruise ships and this is my least favorite.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Main dinning only changed a few dishes each night. Lazy chef. Food was most often cold and not quality, as I expected.

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

Low budget entertainment. Now up to par.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Extra tight. Large sofa took up most of the room, which wasn't needed. The twin beds were so tight, it was difficult to get in and out of the bed. The only way to turn lights on is to insert your keycard into the slot, which caused me problems, as I left it in the room no got locked out several times. Poor design.

Yes, you can use any card and even Carnival does that. I've heard about the extras. I've priced escape cruises and it's fairly low (with the exception of the Haven of course) but it seems like they get ya with the extras.

This will be our second trip on the Escape have always had a blast. Enjoy

I disagree. NCL, RCL, Carnival, Disney and Hawaiian America (no longer in business) all had good and bad. The slides were great for our 10, 9 and 7 y/o and my husband and I did the spa package for a private adult area pool not crowded- we also paid port, drink packages, tips and all other expenses up front to keep costs transparent. If you don't like slides I would recommend the NCL Pride of America- there are not any-

There is always someone to complain u make what u want on a cruise. This our 10th and they all have been fantastic.

I used an old Norwegian Sky key card in the light switch...any ship or card can work by the way...this way if you forget to take it out you have your Escape keycard with you regardless; just food for thought for upcoming cruisers. I had no issues whatsoever...food was great including the Buffet...entertainment and shows were awesome. I am definitely going on the Escape again.

tngirl12 I'm going on the same cruise! My kids love water slides so at least they will have fun.

Exactly! Take reviews lightly because thousands of people that do enjoy the cruise never post the great reviews. I think people sometimes overly expect things but it is a ship. I personally love carnival cruises and this will be my first time on Norwegian. I know I will have a great time and I can't wait!!

tngirl12 Don't take this review to heart. it is just her opinion. wait till you go to build your own opinion. I've been on a couple of cruises and loved them all even though many others had bad things to say about them.

I'm so disappointed to hear this... I am cruising April 15th on this ship and have been looking forward to all the different shows and variety of food options.

you can use any card to turn the lights and power on. even a standard library card would have worked
