Norwegian by gems76412

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

We often cruise after a 3 or 4 day stay in a port city. This has always provided a great flavor of the culture and countries we visit. This cruise was no exception. We were disappointed in the accommodations with Norwegian Epic. The rooms were extremely small and the bathroom situation is uninhabitable for 2 people. Again - with the purchase of the spa package - we made the best of a bad situation.

Second time on Epic. The ship Is beautiful and very clean, staff very friendly, good food and entertainment, very crowded though, First days the music on the pool was very loud even in the morning at 8.30, so was hard to chat with other people, and even though i prefere smaller ship, i had good time and i will cruise on her again.

Wonderful! by laurall

Great port intensive week- exhausting and wonderful! Did not feel 4000 people on the ship probably due to the aft balcony room- just don’t stay by the water heater!

The best rxperience by gloria4q

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

This was only my third cruise but it was the best. Everything was terrific, from the friendly staff and the food to the service. The service desk staff were amazing. I was travelling with my sister and Air Canada lost our luggage. I was without mine for the better part of two days, my sister was without hers for five days. Were it not for the service desk staff, and one staff member in particular, our luggage would not have found us. We were so thankful. The embarkation and disembarkation experience was also the best and the shore excursions were wonderful. I was thankful we signed on for the ones advertised by the ship. I was particularly thankful for the great experience because now my sister is open to a second cruise - thanks to everyone on the epic. Perhaps I should add that there were gluten free and veggie options for my sister and the food was great!!

No hot water for two days. Cold showers by hemple27

Cold water showers. Water shut off twice. Lost laundry. Crowds and lines. Maybe I’ll stick with another brand.

Ship: Norwegian Epic

The ship was ok. I loved the bar staff on deck 5. Concierge didn't have a clue. Fire and Ice was awesome. Although a lot of people in my group didn't like Priscilla Queen of the desert show, I loved it. Taste dining rm had the worst service. O'Sheehan was the place for that late night snack. Garden cafe staff was the best.

50th Anniversary Cruise of the Western Mediterranean by mrsj6548

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

All in all, it accomplished what we wanted which was a cruise to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary with our son, age 46, our daughter, age 39 (with physical disability), our grandson, age 9 and us, age 71 with my husband's physical disability. We wanted to see many of the great sites of Europe and most of us accomplished that. And we wanted a cruise that would entertain our grandson and he loved the water slide and pool area even on colder and rainy days. Without the arcade and pool slides, it would have been very difficult. The ship was too large, too crowded and the excursions too rigorous to accommodate all of our needs. Many of the things we had looked forward to seeing/doing were not included in the hefty price of our cruise. For example, bowling would have been fun but it cost $9 extra each. The Ice Bar would have been cool but it cost $25 each to enter. A tour of the ship sounded interesting but at $79 each, we declined. I knew that there would be extra charges for things onboard but these charges were ridiculous. Would I book on NCL again? No. I would chose a smaller ship with much more personalized service and attention to the needs of all of us. Again, I must say that Eka, our cabin steward, was wonderfully attentive and helped us keep track of each other. And our walkie talkies were vital to keep in touch since cell service was expensive and spotty. Also, when I needed Guest Services, there was often a long, long line as well as the desk for Excursion information. Also, either desk closed or long lines. I gave up on redeeming the internet minutes which were also supposed to have been credited to both of our suites. Only one had been credited and finding help with that consumed a lot of our cruise time. All in all, as novice cruisers, our experience could have been better. But we did see Europe which was the main goal of our vacation. Well, most of us saw it.

Laid Back Transatlantic Crossing by carnac767

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Transatlantic

This was the second year in a row we'd done this cruise. The main attraction to me is the at-sea days and the Haven experience. It was a laid back crossing and very enjoyable.

Amazing Transatlantic Cruise by Darusia

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Transatlantic

This cruise was amazing. We loved the sea days and port days, so much to do and see. We had been planning this cruise for almost 2 years and read different reviews on the ship and began to worry about the negative comments. No need to have worried, the cruise was incredible. The staff were extremely friendly and happy, the food was amazing and there is so much to do. We had no regrets. We enjoyed all the ports and the excursions we did were perfect.

NCL Epic Transatlantic Cruising - My New Fave! by TomandJen2003

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Transatlantic

Very enjoyable cruise! If you love your sea days, a transatlantic is the way to go. We were a party of 5. My husband and I, another couple and a single friend of ours who stayed in a studio cabin. It was his first cruise. He loved the experience and will be back for more. Food and drinks were good. Entertainment fabulous and our ports were exceptional!

Wonderful TA on the NCL Epic, May 2019 by SLKraebber

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Transatlantic

Worst part of a West to East TA Cruise is the “nightly” time change, so 7 days only had 23 hours! Weather and seas were wonderful! Couldn’t have asked for better! No need for Dramamine or sea bands!

SUPERB TransAtlantic Cruise - We were in the HAVEN by halcaton

We are business owners, so used this Transatlantic cruise to rest and recuperate...and intentionally did not take any excursions. Had the ship to ourselves on port days!

Great Voyage by TZZZ

Ship was packed. Food was some of the best we have had on any cruise and we have been on 25. Staff were hardworking and attentive. Stateroom was nice, maybe a little small.

Ship: Norwegian Epic

Honestly, I thought that 4000 passengers would create PACK on the ship but I was WRONG! Cruise Director and her staff were WONDERFUL. Really enjoyed playing trivia and pool games with the staff. Food were ranged from fair to good which explained why I can't give this ship five stars. Noticed food especially at O'Sheegan - the Irish pub getting poorer toward to the end of the cruise. Our cabin 10200 location was an ideal - midship. We got the cabin through "guaranteed" assignment program. Enjoyed walking around the ports. No shore excursions at all.

NCL first timer by Kaz1704

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Have cruised several times before but this was my first on NCL. Although it was ok I would probably not choose NCL again. A cruise is a special trip for us and this didn’t make us feel special.
