Review summary

As always, the crew and staff were fantastic. We had 4 rooms, 2 Haven 2 not. If you are having mixed cabins get the Posh upgrade for the non haven people as soon as on board. We were too late and that limited our access because we wanted to spend time together. Our mistake, not NCL.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Quick. The Haven lounge in terminal 3 was beautiful! If sailing from Terminal 3, hotel is literally across the street.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Haven and specialty restaurants were excellent. Buffet was small, crowded with limited selections. MDR lines out into the Casino and lounge areas. We didn't go.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Pool space limited, the bar service on the pool deck was poorly designed. Young adults enjoyed Bliss. Spice H2O was "too feral" for them. (Cousin group) Adult behavior on display.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Stage shows were excellent. Howl at the Moon was also fun. Some lounge singers were very hard on the ears. Others were Great!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Every interaction was very pleasant and helpful. I have rarely encountered problems with staff. I find if you treat people with kindness and respect, it is returned. Also some patience goes a long way.

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
It was CLEAN. There was a smell (urinal cake?) that just lingered all the time. Balconies were closed in and too loud for conversation. We usually love the rear facing suites, this one was not good. Not enough outdoor bar/ lounge area's, especially in the evening. We love to get a drink and sit outside and listen to the waves.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Recently redone. It was beautiful. Lots of storage. Drawers were too shallow. Bed was SUPER COMFY.

Ship tip

We have decided that we would do a short cruise in the Haven, but probably not a longer cruise, and definitely NOT without haven access.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

5 out of 5

Great Stirrup Cay (Cruise Line Private Island), Bahamas

1 out of 5
Rough weather. Missed. NCL needs to add a Dock.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

4 out of 5

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

3 out of 5
time in port too short. We also were not at the regular cruise terminal. We docked at the industrial port. Do not plan on walking.

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

5 out of 5
Pleasantly surprised! Nice pool ziplines, food, drinks were all affordable.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Quick and simple. Walked back across the street to hotel.

okay, i think what your referring to is the Beach Vibe...it comes with the Haven Guests Cabins i thought, but you have to pay $160 to $200 to be able to access this limited sun deck/bar/hot tub/loungers behind a card swiper door. i have seen these on NCL. they limit i believe to the first 150 guests, but you cannot purchase til your onboard. thanks for the info.

It is access to a sun deck that has a really nice quiet bar area. No lines no crowds. It is limited to haven and those with “posh” upgrade. It is not on all NCL ships but is on the Epic. You cannot request before boarding and it sells out fast. I think it was around 200.00. Not sure on price as wee were not fast enough.

what is the posh upgrade? ive sailed 30 cruises and never heard about this? is it expensive? i got an inside cabin by myself for april 2024 $399 on vacationstogo.com...it went up to $479 now for 12 day Orlando to Rome. they have a huge gym, ship is laid out weird but you can figure it out.
