The weather was awful which caused us to miss the Azores and Bermuda, so we spent all 9 days onboard. That was fine with us, but it would have been better if the ship had more internal open areas so that we could see what was going on outside. Big ships do offer smoother navigation in rough seas, and this was an advantage on the Epic. Other than that, we were not impressed by the size and will be looking for smaller boats in the future.

Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Excellent service and elegant decor. The food was hit or miss; some disjes were outstanding but other less than palatable.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Bad weather keeps passengers inside, thus limiting their options to drinking, reading, gambling and drinking
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The shows were excellent as were some of the musicians onboard. Other music related entertainment was less than adequate,
Children's Programs
Don't have children
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
As with most cruise staff, the attention to guests needs was superior at all levels; restaurants, staterooms, guest services, bars, etc. The one sore exception was a young lady in the service desk who displayed an attitude when trying to explain wi-fi connectivity.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
In general, cleanliness was above average but would sink to unacceptable levels in the bathrooms.
The ship seems to have been designed as a platform to pack as many staterooms as possible, leaving less than adequate open spaces for the passengers to move freely. Next cruise will be on a smaller boat.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Actually, we were upgraded to a balcony cabin -13151- which we really did not get to enjoy dues to the inclement weather. Cabin was nicely decorated and appointed but felt a bit tight. Sleeping quality was very good.
Ship tip
Our trip was enjoyable largely because there were only 1,800 passengers on a ship designed to carry over 4,200 so there were no lines anywhere and you could move freely around the common areas. I would hate to see the same trip with a full complement of passengers. Must be something like Disneyland in the summer.
