Review summary

We celebrated our 20th anniversary on this cruise. We had a great time and really enjoyed being on the ship. The crew was amazing, smiling faces and friendly greetings everywhere we went. We would recommend this ship and this itinerary.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Super easy. We purchased the “priority embarkation” package but didn’t need it for embarkation. There were not any lines and we zipped right though the process. It would have been great if a bit more information was given about the keycard and how everything was applied to it. It’s been years since we sailed and we were not that familiar with the updated way of doing things.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The buffet food was average, though the pasta bar was very nice and we had it most days for lunch. Some of the specialty restaurants were very good.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
We entered a slots tournament and a Texas Holdem Tournament. The slots tournament were 2 minute rounds with one winner each round. It was fun to do. The Texas Holdem tournament allowed rebuys and add-on’s so paying the $80.00 or $100.00 entry fee’s then adding on for another $80.00 or $100.00 or rebuying for another $80.00 or $100.00 made the tournaments quite expensive. If we had known it worked that way we would not have entered those tournaments. We played mini golf and also went into the video arcade one day and had fun there.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Burn the Floor was very good! Some of the music in the lounge was good as well.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Walter was our cabin steward and he was very good! Super nice and did a great job. We had several servers and other crew on the ship that did a great job and we appreciated that very much.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was designed very nicely. Even though its an older ship it was great. It was always clean, no matter where you went or what you were doing, it was clean and neat/organized. Every bathroom I went in to on the ship was clean, every time, and well stocked. They did a great job at keeping things nice for the guests!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The cabin was comfortable and the bed was surprisingly good. It wasn’t too soft and it wasn’t too hard.

Ship tip

If you want to do excursions, book them in advance. Some were already sold out the first day we embarked on the ship.

We started and ended in Rome. It’s Rome - amazing.

Livorno (Florence & Pisa), Italy

5 out of 5
We had previously spent 3 days in Florence so when the ship arrived here we only walked around and shopped. It was super fun.

Palma De Mallorca, Balearic Islands

4 out of 5
We did the Hop On Hop Off Bus excursion. It was a great way to see the city.

Barcelona, Spain

Ajaccio, Corsica

5 out of 5
All the excursions for this port were sold out when we embarked on the ship so we walked around and shopped.
