Review summary

Previous Norwegian vessels have been the likes of the Jade and Jewel. This was our first of the big liners. We thought it may have been too big, but no. Only issue was the queue at the pool bars as most others did not open until late afternoon. Western Med cruise was ideal, Done the Eastern med. Would do the trip again, hopefully get to Cannes next time - Lol (Too windy for Tenders)

Embarkation

Simple as. no delays. Few queues, ONLY for the lifts (elevators)

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Savoured, Taste, Manhattan, Garden Cafe as these were comp. Le Bistro for one meal and this was excellent

Maltings Whiskey Bar

4 out of 5

Favourite Bar for cocktails, open about 4.0pm. Got very busy, so get in first

Le Bistro

5 out of 5

Greta venue for French cuisine

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Pool area was congested, I assume due to H2o/Spice closed. However, heared about Deck 18 a hidden Gem but could not get to it. Did not have time for lying around, so not a problem for us.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Theatre entertainment great but every night like other cruises. Spent time in Headliners a few of the evenings. Called in to The Cavern Club once and wished I hadn't. Too congested with people (Covid and all that). Never went to the bliss other than the ncl rewards Cocktail Party.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Nothing further to say than excellent. They all had a smile regardless of the pressure.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
State room toilet and shower separate. No need for further examination. Plenty on YouTube. Worked OK for us. I'm told the ship was dated but everywhere was clean

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
This was part of a duel family cabin with a connecting door, but was not a problem - no noise from the neighbours. The cabin would only allow single traffic between the bed and the vanity. We had a curved sofa and found that useful for bags etc. Well cleaned, but 2 dents in the acrylic Sink but I guess wear and tear. Balcony view on starboard gave us a great view of the port area. Lots going on below. Garden Cafe and pool area so convenient, one floor up. Stairs very close to room. Being on 14th Floor had to wait ages for lefts down to dining on level 6/7. No complaints otherwise.

Ship tip

Think about social distancing and forever wash your hands. I stop there. Avoid lifts

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Disembarked at Barcelona. Left our suitcases with Bags&Go in the terminal and they took them to the airport. Allowed us the full day in Barcelona. Caught the bus to the airport later that evening and collected baggage in the airport terminal

We were on that ship (got on at “Rome”) when you got on…. Had pretty much same experience. The ship was good for the port intensive cruise. It was a memorable and exhausting trip…. Haha. Glad you enjoyed your cruise too.
