Review summary

This was a really good turned basic cruise filled with high expectations, first time cruisers, home port locals, seasoned cruisers, and shall we say..... some racists (Wearing politically affiliated attire and/or refusing to wear masks helped them stand out). Throw in 3 canceled ports, a canceled show, a champagne toast, zero transparency and a staff at its breaking point, smiling through the insanity and you have our sailing! Some serious changes are needed.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
I loved the pre-sail testing. It kept everything safe for those first few days.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Food was pretty fresh, but the variety has fallen off over the years on this ship. Drinks were watered down sonetimes.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Likely because it was supposed to be a "no sea days" cruise, there were only the minimum activities.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The bands were okay, not up to the usual quality standard. But when you learn how long some of the artists have been on board without leaving the ship, and putting up with racists daily, you understand. One show was pretty good and then they canceled the other theater show entirely.

Children's Programs

1 out of 5
No children in our group

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone was friendly, yet as exhausted with the constant Flux and cancelations onboard.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
For an older ship, it is spectacular!

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
It was great except the closet door couldn't close. The light stays on. We didn't bother anyone about it, they had a lot going on.

Ship tip

Book early for all desired activities on board. It fills up fast.

Ports of call

San Juan, Puerto Rico

3 out of 5
A tad difficult coming and going. Zero signage and or instructions for a new, intricate process.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

5 out of 5
We didn't visit this port. Not allowed to dock.

St. John's, Antigua

5 out of 5
Terrible wifi, scummy tactics to get you to buy things for non-working wifi, nice beaches and land tours

Bridgetown, Barbados

5 out of 5
Favorite stop, with lots of options to explore on you own.

Castries, St. Lucia

5 out of 5
We didn't visit the port. Not allowed to dock.

Basseterre, St. Kitts

1 out of 5
We did not visit this port. Not allowed to dock.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

4 out of 5
Did a shore excursion the second time we returned. First time was a bit tough to secure a tour due to the itinerary change.

Disembarkation

2 out of 5
Super slow and disorganized new processes. Attempting to leave is a nightmare... gypsy cabs block the path to Uber, shared rides

So sorry you had to deal with some less than evolved passengers that is never fun. But I'm glad you had a good time anyway. Great review! 😊

Sometimes the things that go wrong are not within the cruise lines control; like fellow passengers. One needs to ignore them when possible. Otherwise, your cruise sounds good.
