Review summary

We had a great time over all and have already booked another NCL Cruise. I wish there were more children’s activities and shows onboard.

Onboard Activities

We played in the pool but the kids aqua park was closed our entire time onboard. Our 4 year old was really looking forward to the kids aqua park and we were all bummed as the bigger pools were harder for her to swim in with the bigger kids.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
We didn’t spend much time with the performers. But we did see the cirque de dreams show which was incredible. I wish there was more of a variety for the shows. I wasn’t really interested in the shows that were offered on board. They weren’t all family friendly.

Children's Programs

The kids aqua park was closed the entire time we were on board. Having a 4 year old who’s still learning to swim we were disappointed that the toddler swim area was unavailable the entire time we were on board. The splash academy was also disappointing. We dropped out daughter off for her first day and she was excited yet hesitant for this new experience. Less than 30 minutes after dropping her off they called us talking us to pick her up because she “wasn’t participating”. When we picked her up she was crying saying she thought we left her and that the other kids weren’t nice to her. We told the staff that this is a new experience for her and she’s never been around children who speak other languages. We told them she’d need time to adjust. They didn’t give her that time, nor do they take the time to inform us of the concerns.

Cabin / Stateroom

Our cabin was great. We had a lot of storage and a decent view from our balcony. Our steward was friendly and personable. He greeted us by first name from day one and made sure our daughter felt like she got everything she needed.

Ship tip

Pack light and prepare for slow over crowded elevators. Read all of the fine print on excursions and buy a drink package.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
We felt that disembarking could’ve gone smoother. Between people getting off for excursions, new passengers on boarding, and a lot of us disembarking at our final destination it was chaos. The elevators were extremely slow and mostly unavailable. We ended up carrying our stroller and all of suitcases down stairs from our room to the 4th floor. It would’ve been nice if things were more separated like disembarking for excursions uses elevators toward the middle or back of the ship, new passengers coming on use the even side elevators, and passengers getting off at their final destination use the odd elevators. Something to that effect.
