Review summary

If you are young it is a good idea not to choose this ship. This ship caters to the older folks. Food - Most of the complementary dining buffets close early. The one restaurant that is open 24/7 was awful. All of the complementary food was pretty poor quality. Also there is food available 24/7, but it is not completely complementary because they charge a convenience fee. If you want good food you will need to purchase the specialty dining package as this food was actually very good, but you will need a reservation because the time slots fill up quickly. Entertainment - Most of the good shows were reserved ahead of time so you didn't have many options if you don't enjoy making reservations. Very few interesting shows to choose from as they all looked rather dull. Stateroom - The one good thing about this cruise was that the person servicing our stateroom did a terrific job and was extremely friendly. Unfortunately, I will not be booking a cruise through Norwegian until I am a bit older.

My favorite ship! Was never bored and the food was delicious. Absolutely love the quiet deck.. wish more ships had one:)

Wow.. so what do you consider older? I was on this ship on the 9th and found a mix of all ages. Not a lot of young children, but also not everyone was “older”. O’Shehanns was open 24/7 and we didn’t think it was awful by any means. And the only other 24/7 that has a charge was room service. And I’m glad you found the shows were dull although you didn’t seem to bother going to them. The 2 I went to had plenty of seats available. Oh well, can’t please everyone. After all it is a vacation and if you spend time complaining about the little things and never do your research then what do you expect 🤦🏼‍♀️

Us older folks love the Epic! Now, if we can only keep the young whipper-snappers off of it.

Sailed on the Epic once and sailing again next year. The food was awesome. The shows were great. Mix of all ages. Everyone seemed to have a great time. On a big ship, reservations are a must. Maybe next time do a little more research and you will not be as disappointed.

Was on the epic and the complimentary food was amazing. We couldn't get enough. Definitely gained weight that cruise.

I dunno... We did the Epic a few years ago and the younger crowd seemed to having a really good time. Same on all the cruises we've been on. A lot of the comments from younger cruisers seem to support that. We've always found the complementary restaurants so good we don't usually spend on the specialty dining, except we always spend on sushi at the sushi bar. "Each to his own" as the saying goes. The shows we saw were really good, but they change over time and yours would have been different. Show reservations on the larger ships is something you have to plan for. You kind of have pick your show time and plan dinner and whatever else you want to do around that. Sorry Your cruise wasn't a great one.
