Review summary

I have been on three NCL cruised due to our casino membership we tend to come back but I have now just paid to book our next cruise with Royal Carribean due to this experience and get into their casino program.

Waited in line in the hot sun for 4 hours and they passed out water at the end

waiting forever to get meals in dining room, buffet lines over crowded. Did not even get to use one of our speciality meals as all they had available was after 9 at night.

Was told one night that we were not allowed into manhattan dining due to Khakki shorts and nice polo shirts yet our last night we saw several people in shorts and tennis shoes allowed in to eat. Other dining room took hours to get food out and service was slow

Hope you didn’t book the RCCL Oasis or the Allure because you’ll have the same problem regarding restaurants and shows. On any big ships, you make reservations ASAP. Also, usually, the first and last night, they are more flexible for dress attire for dinner due to luggage not being there or luggage being done. That being said, it’s unfortunate that NCL didn’t do anything about the delay. Did you try going to guest service ? Did you contact NCL after your cruise to make a formal complaint? I know I would.

The biggest thing I blame NCL for is not preparing for the four hour delay due to the ship coming back from England. Standing in hot sun four hours. Ship was supposed to sail at 4:30 didn’t leave until after 7 and still charged us for drinks when had drink package. So poor customer service on their part.

Well Jeff unfortunately we didn’t have that luxury to book ahead but as I said I’ve been on 7 cruises and it was never like this.

I used to sail NCL but their mystery tax and fees are often doubled what other lines charge for same stops.

Sounds like it was 100% your fault for not booking shows and dinners ahead of time. You can do this starting at 90 days out.

Thank you for your review. I'm looking into doing an NCL for Panama Canal, on a smaller ship like the Sun, Star, or Jade, the larger ships with 4-6 thousand passengers scare me and I'm pretty confident through my own experience and reviews of others that the service is better on smaller ships with a 1 crew to 2or3 passenger ratio
