Overall we had a great honeymoon and first experience cruising - the service of the staff members was excellent, the food and drinks were excellent - there was plenty of stuff to do if you wanted to partake. Entertainment was a little cheesy (as to be expected), the shore excursions were inflated and way overpriced, so I'm glad we ended up doing our own thing each day. Wonderful ports of call. Only discrepancy is a rude manicurist that did my nails on the cruise that almost threatened me when I didn't purchase a face wash she was hustling, she was SO incredibly rude, and the lack of shuttles / communication embarking and disembarking the cruise ship. Other than that it was a wonderful experience.
Embarkation

Norwegian and/or never contacted us the day(s) before the cruise just to confirm everything. We knew where we needed to be, but there was no one there in Civitavecchia train station to tell us where the port was - we just had to guess. We ended up walking 2 miles with some other passengers to the port, then a shuttle finally took us to the ship. It would have been nice if there was either more clarification in an email, or directions on how to board the ship - especially since we were first time cruisers.

Excellent fitness center! Casino was better than I had imagined. Norwegian planned some fun themed parties every night which we kind of popped in and out of. There was an adults only pool which was great, but then passengers would bring their load of kids into that area, frustrating a lot of other passengers.
Entertainment

We went to once dance show, where the dancers were very talented, but the show was disastrous. There was a circus dinner performance as well, and it turned out to be pretty good. On board entertainment is dicey.

Very comfortable and clean - great size and layout. Our cleaner was AMAZING and kept our stateroom very clean throughout the duration of our stay.
Ship tip
Please note, there are kids - lots and lots of kids :( and they aren't very clear on how to get you to and from places without you spending a ton of money on shore excursions, which we did not do and ended up having an amazing time each day because we went off and did our own thing.
TERRIBLE disembarkation. It's like they didn't give a crap because we weren't their passengers to worry about anymore. They had one shuttle every 45 minutes taking passengers to the GATE of the port, not even an extra mile down the road to the train station in Civitavecchia to drop passengers off. My husband and I ended up walking the 2 miles we had originally walked when we embarked back to the train station because the shuttle couldn't carry as many passengers, and if we didn't take that particular shuttle at the time, we would have missed our train to Rome to fly out.
face wash!? after a manicure?! how did they even try to justify that!? man, they are getting ballsy. hate hate hate the stupid sales pitch after services. really ruins the experience.
