We booked our first Med cruise for the fab destnations and were not dissapointed at all!  The bonus was the ship with 4,000+ that we thought would be a problem; however we never felt crowded. The ship was beautiful and well-maintained with an excellent, friendly staff. We looked forward to coming home after a long day of touring.

Only 2 drawbacks - ship's store not open while in French waters.

We booked a airport transfer with NCL; but still had to roll and load/unload our own luggage onto/from the transfer bus!

Cabin / Stateroom
Enough space to store everything - light comes on when closet door opens - safe also in closet. You have to use your key card for the cabin lights so you never forget it!
Only 2 decks below from food at Garden Cafe and pool; so we could walk the few times the elevators were busy.
Embarkation and Disembarkation
Paid for airport transfers; but had to find, roll and load our own luggage.
Ship Quality
I did not think I would like the sink outside on the counter; but the design now gives the cabin more room for a separate circular shower with no need for that shower curtain that always sticks to you - loved it!
Destinations and Excursions
Naples - from the cruise ship terminal, look for Ontano small white building across the parking lot for vouchers to Pompeii or a combo to Pompeii, Sorentto and Amalfi coast. Ticket to Pompeii was $15 per person and we then paid $13 per person for the entry fee. First bus returns starting at 1pm unless you're doing the combo.
Rome - excellent day touring the Collesium, Spanish steps and The Vatican! About 1.5 hours from the port - be sure to get tickets or tour w/tickets b4 arriving.
Florence & Pisa - about 40 minutes to Pisa, go there first b4 the crowds arrive. Then another 45 minutes to Florence - tour and tickets mandatory unless you want to get lost in the crowded streets!
Cannes - easy to get on the little train right outside the terminal - loved it! Not much touring - shopping.
Marseilles- Must take the ship's shuttle to town, $15 per person charged to your account. Then you can take the train ($15) up the hill to a most beautiful church with a fab view of the city.
Onboard Activities
for evening entertainment mid-week we always went to Bliss Lounge for the karioke contests and dancing afterwards. We were not onboard during the day.
We did not see Priscilla Queen of the Desert since I don't like musicals; but heard from several fellow cruisers that it was not good.
Not enough entertainment to my liking each night since Howl at the Moon (dueling pianos) and Epic Beatles are not my favs; but others seemed to enjoy those shows in the middle of the week. We thoroughly enjoyed Cirque Dreams dinner show (premium seating well worth it), Soul Satisfaction (Motown) and, of course, 4 Ever in Concert was the best surprise for Saturday night ever!!!!
And don't miss any of the Burn the Floor shows!
Service and Staff
Ross at the bar near the ship's store was very helpful when the store was closed in french waters. Rhoden in th casino gave us safety tips for touring in Italy.
Food and Dining
Ate mostly in the Garden Cafe except for Cirque Dreams dinner show and twice in O'Sheehan's.
Once in Moderno for breakfast; but the food was cold.
Barcelona, Spain
BEWARE---Pick pocket paradise!
Naples, Italy
Easy to get to Pompeii, Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast - watch out for the locals trying to sell you stuff in the parking lot, though - just pass them by and go to Ontano's for bus tickets.
Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy
Very, Very important to book a tour with tickets b4 arrival! Don't forget to try gelato!
Livorno (Florence & Pisa), Italy
Very, Very important to book a tour with tickets b4 arrival! Don't forget to try gelato!
Cannes, France
Easy to get around walking - use the train first for $10 to get a preview.
Marseille (Provence), France
The train up the hill was fun!

Ship's store closes in french waters.
Our luggage was by our door right after we boarded.
Cabins closer forward seemed to be located to the areas of the ship we frequented - Garden Cafe, Epic Theater, Bliss Lounge, Spice H2O and Headliner's. Spread out your entertainment choices for the week.
