Review summary

Expected more for the price. Disappointed with the pool area and some of the ports. Personally liked the Epic much better.

Embarkation

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Specialty restaurants were fantastic. Although it was very hard to get reservations. Many specialty restaurants were completely booked the entire cruise week.

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
Pool area was incredibly small. The staff did a poor job with keeping children out of the adults only pool. Also there was not enough lounge chairs for everyone. If you didn’t get to the pool area by 6:30am there wasn’t a place to sit. Very disappointed.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Choir of Men was excellent! Probably one of the best shows we have seen.

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
Service was good except in pool area. It seemed there wasn’t any ship personnel to manage the children.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Ship was very clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Excellent balcony stateroom.

Ship tip

Don’t expect to get a chair at the pool unless you get there early.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

5 out of 5
Shockingly this was the easiest port to get on/off ship.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

3 out of 5
Beautiful! Only complaint was the time we were there - 5:00pm to 11:30pm. There were not any excursions available.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

5 out of 5
Beautiful! The beach excursion is a must!

Tortola, British Virgin Islands

2 out of 5
Beautiful port! Excursion, Best of Tortola, was poorly run and disorganized.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Seamless

We enjoy NCL very much especially the Bars and dining but we've experience similar pool conditions on a lot of their ships. We tend to have better luck with pools on RCCL not sure if their pools are bigger or if their towel management has anything to do with it. In any case be sure to mention it in the requested review they send you along with what you liked. This will help their efforts to improve everyone’s cruise experience. Also, if you had someone that seemingly went out of their way to make you cruise better mention their name it does mean a lot.

Since you traveled during the holidays, there are many more children on board.

People shouldn’t be allowed to use chairs if they aren’t actively sitting in them since they are in short supply. No saving chairs.

Parents need to follow rules with their children Rules are made for reasons The staff can only do so much

The pools on most ships are small and never able to accommodate everyone who is interested in using them. It is almost impossible to design a pool on a cruise ship to accommodate everyone due to the size that would be needed.
