Beautiful Cruise. by Lovetocruisew

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Dawn / Destination: Bermuda

The dinning was excellent, the Balcony stateroom was fantastic and the crew was very kind and helpful to us. We enjoyed the ship very much. We've taken at lease 4 cruises and this was the best one. The Free style dinning was a good way to go, we just loved it. We always ate in the Venetian Dinning room because the décor and the food was outstanding. The ship was very stable, no problems with seasickness.

Had a wonderful time, great food. Nice resturants with plenty of selections. My only complaint is that a few plates were chipped at Venetian, I sent them back.

The service in the dinning rooms was outstanding, they ask each night if we waited to long if the food was hot enough etc. always looking to ensure everything was perfect, The food choices were awesome, food is really good and plenty of it everywhere. The entertainment shows were outstanding, speically dolly wood.

Just Okay by RobinsonRose

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Norwegian Dawn / Destination: Bermuda

This was my fifth cruise. First NCL cruise. The ship left out of Boston which was extremely convenient for us. We were a party of ten adults with side by side balcony cabins. The embarkation and disembarkation processes could not have easier. The shows were varied and very entertaining. The staff was generally pleasant and helpful. However we did encounter a few that did not fit that description which is something we have not encountered on other cruise lines. The food in the main dining rooms was tasty but the menu was limited and did not vary much day to day. It also did not have that "wow" factor that we have expienced on other cruises. The two specialty dining rooms we tried were better but not up to par with those on other ships. Our cabins were adequate but smaller than what I was used to. My bed was against a wall on one side and had about 10 inches between beds on the other. The bathroom was tiny and folks in our party had difficulty manuvering inside. The trip down to Bermuda was the smoothest sail I had ever expienced. Coming home the seas were choppier but still not bad. Our time in Bermuda, although fleeting, was terrific. We used public transportation to get around and did just fine. There is a beach, Snorkle Park, very near the dock which was not crowded, clean, and lovely. We were reluctant to pay the $5 admission because we were told the beach had been built over a former landfill. Best $5 we spent on the island. We all enjoyed it so much. We thoroughly enjoyed the Clockworks and its many stores. The sunset rum swizzle cruise was a blast. All in all we enjoyed our trip but that was more the result of the people on it rather that the ship and it's accommodations.

We had the greatest vacation by cmagnan

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Dawn / Destination: Bermuda

I read other reviews before going on this trip. I heard that the food was bad - and I agree. It wasn't great. What is great is the itinerary. I love having the ship stay in one place for several days. Another thing, the staff is great. There was nothing that was out of the question for us. I love Bermuda. I love getting on in Boston. I just love the trip. My husband and I love snorkeling and Bermuda was great for that. We plan to go back.

Cruise to Bermuda by Cardc

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Dawn / Destination: Bermuda

We enjoyed being able to stay at Bermuda for 3 days. So often the cruise is only in port 1 day and you cant enjoy the island you have sailed to. We have been on 3 other cruises and also enjoyed leaving from Boston. It was very easy to get to port and park without bothering to fly to another location.

Bermuda Trip by Quiglysade

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Norwegian Dawn / Destination: Bermuda

Over all it was a very good experience. We have not cruised from Boston for a while and I found that check in was quick and efficient. The staff on Board was very helpful and cheerful. I did enjoy that I did not have to be a dinner at a specific time and could enjoy a varied dining experience. The stateroom was a good sized and plenty of hangers. Our cabin steward was great. The most disappointment was that the pool was a bit on the small side and the fact that there never seem to be a lounge chair available. Also there were not many on deck 7. I do wish there was a way to have a longer time in Bermuda, Check out was great. Love the idea of self check out!

Bost to Bermuda Balcony view by Brem

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Norwegian Dawn / Destination: Bermuda

Our cruise started with easy "all aboard" experience, very smooth and quick. We had a balcony mini suite on 11th deck for 3 ladies to share. Plenty of room to twin beds and a couch made into a queen bed. The balcony was great to relax with a glass of refreshment at night or our room service coffee in the morning. The room stewards were very attentive without being intrusive. Escellent service. The 2 complimentary restaurants were fine, acqua being more casual then Venetian. Menu more or less same each day. We ate at 3 co payment restaurants, Bamboo, Lacucina and The French Bistro. The food was very good and a nice change. The Blue Lagoon is opened 24 hrs, nice breakfast and a place for some good chicken wings for a snack. We were disappointed in the Pool area, the large pool was 5 1/2 to 6 feet deep and very small. The smaller Oasis pool was walking down a steep ladder about 20 steps into a round pool 4 to 4 1/2 feet, we all felt like we were in a water tank, only did this once. Not enough lounges for the many sun bathers. It felt very crowded all the time. The entertainment was okay. The casino was small. The ship's stores were fine. The ship docks in Bermuda at Dockyard, not as nice as Front St. or St. Georges but the bigger ships can only go to Dockyard. The ferry is a nice choice to take you to Front St instead of cabs. Cabs are very clean and the drivers very infomative about the island. Great to be on 1 place for 2 1/2 days. When the cruise was over, easy exit with self walk off, you do not put your bags out the night before, next morning you are the first ones off ship, our transportaton was waiting for us. End of perfect vacation!!!

Relaxing by lh4212

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Dawn / Destination: Bermuda

I did enjoy the cruise very much but needed to have more cash for my account than I expected. The cruise was relaxing and I enjoyed being with my family. What I didn't realize was that in order to get the beverage package everyone that was in my party had to get the entire package. We did do that but come to realize the it would have been less expensive to buy the drinks without the package. knowing this would give me insight to the next cruise I may take in the future. I will look a little differently for a better package as far as booking my reservation. I didn't know what to expect since this was my first cruise. Next year I may be going with my entire family which will be approximately 20 people. That should be fun. See what happens..........

Excellent cruise on Norweigian Dawn by JandJ

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Dawn / Destination: Bermuda

Very much enjoyed the cruise on the Dawn to Bermuda for 7 days from Boston. Food, entertainment and balcony suite was excellent,. We found the music around the pool during afternoon hours was very loud and would have appreciated the level of sound to be quieter. Not great for reading! Recommend this cruise!

family fun on dawn by AnitaJ4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Dawn / Destination: Bermuda

Embarkation went quite smoothly, no long lines but we we were early 11:45 or so. On the plus side: the food was outstanding, the crew was great!! The Reggae band was great! The entertanment was good. Alex and Sally were amazing! Second City was very funny! Cruise Director Gio was one of the best we have seen. The dawn is showing her age in some places. I know they have spent tons on upgrading but really ladies room doors on deck 12 that don't close; deck 13 had toilets with NO water in them and very extremely loud when flushed. Then another day there was water in the hallway and water on the floor on deck 13. The automatic from pool to Garden Cafe was not working right. Door would not open unless you waved your hand in front. People were walking into the closed door expecting it to open. We notified personnel of the issue but nothing was done. The band out by the pool needs improvement. They could not sing. They did instrumentals really well. Bermuda was very hot, sunny and beautiful! The ferrys have been upgraded and are now air conditioned! The buses are easy to use, the people were all helpful and polite. The water was incredibly warm, beaches were beautiful. Did Hartley's Helmet Dive; don't miss it. You have to book it on your own.

Cusomer service excellent. At times a bit curt and rushed in the main dining room. Specialty restaurants were drab and rooms look similar. We walked out of the brazilain restaurant but the staff was accomodating.. Night time activities were great. my teens enjoyed as well.

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Norwegian Dawn / Destination: Bermuda

Pound for pound you can't beat this cruise. Great value for the price. Always something happening, plenty to eat.and a very clean ship. It can be a bit crowded on sea days, but that was part of the fun.A mixed age crowd that really enjoyed themselves, but respected each other.

3rd times the charm by lovestocrusie

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Dawn / Destination: Bermuda

went on the dawn last year in july 2012. wow was it filled with kids, so i tried this May instead. had a great time but the water in Bermuda was still a little too cold. so got a great deal and went this July as well. best time ever. i think 'cause i knew what to expect it made the cruise even more enjoyable. i knew what was happening when and where and could decide if i wanted to do something else, having experienced the former. the Dawn is showing its age but it's still a nice ship. definitely a great ship for first time cruisers; the food isn't high end but it's good fair and this reflects what the price for the cruise was--you get what you pay for. but I'm not fussy so to me the food is more than acceptable. the entertainment is top notch and the crew is wonderful. it took three times but this was the perfect cruise--or as close to it as a person can get. weather was great too, luckily. i look fwd to more ships sailing out of Boston too in the future.

Fine experience! Children's' pool was very small. The onboard club for children was a fine place unfortunately my children did not enjoy it so we choose to entertain them ourselves.
