Review summary

Overall, the cruise was great - it was an excellent adventure. It's just that the food was disappointing in each area, because we had done 2 other NCL cruises with the food being exceptional in every area, buffet, dining room and specialty restaurants.

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
The specialty restaurants were good but not worth the extra money and the main dining rooms were average. The buffet was below average.

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

All the shoes were very good. I thought that the Tina Turner show was excellent.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All of the ship's personnel were excellent in their service. We visited the Medical Center and all the nurses and Dr R. Nomirosa provided exceptional care and treatment for my husband who was diagnosed with pneumonia. My husband was sick for only a couple days and because of Dr. Nomirosa's treatment, he was able to enjoy the remainder of our cruise. Dr. Nomirosa gave an excellent explanation of all of the treatment and care to myself and my husband. He is an excellent physician!

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
They were clean and maintained but old - our cabin's curtain had holes in it.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
There was an odor from the bathroom area every time we came into our cabin - and we flush our toilet each time after use. The ship WI-FI was non- existent. The shipboard announcements were not understood in our cabin and even sometimes after we opened our door to help to understand them. The navigation channel did not work for the last 4 days - no interactive map and the current day of excursions was not showing. Apart from the old age of the cabin - the size was acceptable.

Ship tip

Check to make sure that you will sail on a newer ship.

Loved the tour in Brussels - our guide was excellent.

Ijmuiden (Amsterdam), Netherlands

All of our other excursions ere very good, however, our Amsterdam tour was cancelled and could not join another excursion that day because they were filled up. All the taxis tripled their fares to be $200 dollars each way into Amsterdam. That was appalling!

Invergordon (Inverness & Loch Ness), Scotland

Cawdor Castle and Urquhart Castle were very interesting.

NEWHAVEN HARBOUR (EDINBURGH), SCOTLAND
