Cruise was okay overall: ports were good, ship and our stateroom were clean, if small, staff was friendly and professional (although there were fewer of them) and food was fair to poor outside of the specialty dining restaurants. Overall communication was very poor and many of the ways things were done were disorganized.
Embarkation
3 out of 5
Lines kept moving and took an appropriate amount of time.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
Specialty restaurants were good to very good. Buffet and other restaurants had average to poor food. O'Sheenys (sp?) was consistently good!
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
The pool was a little bigger than a postage stamp!!!! Limited seating just about everywhere, pool deck, buffet eating and atrium.
Fitness center was average. Other outside activities were limited and average.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Overall with 1 exception, comedian (very poor), it was good to very good.
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
Service staff were friendly and helpful, but fewer of them than other cruises (staffing cut backs?).
Ship Quality
2 out of 5
All the different specialty dining places cut up the ship and made it disjointed. Limited space for diners to wait, Too few elevators and spaced too far apart. Overall ship and our stateroom were clean (good to very good).
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
King bed made it hard to get in and out from one side. Limited storage space and overall room size compared to other ships we have been on is smaller. Space could have been set up much better.
Ship tip
Older Norwegian ships are not as equipped or set up as newer ships, but midship location for your cabin is best to get around the ship.
Note: On the ship size. We love Tampa as nothing bigger than 2500 passenger can get under Skyway. Cannot figure out why the mega ships only have elevator banks in two places. All the Tampa ships have elevators Fwd, Mid, and Aft. Mega ships have Mid and only one end.
