Review summary

I placed all my comments in other boxes. Overall a great experience. The only thing I would like to see changed is that the extra $20 per day per person for tips and other stuff for the staff to be added into the price of the cruise

Embarkation

5 out of 5
It was great, but left the port about an hour late due too not being fully stocked tey.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Lots if great drinks, and the ICE Bar was awesome, but the food was just average in my opinion

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Not enough large pools for adults, but plenty of hot tubs and the spa was awesome

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The 1 show we went to was great and heard lots of good reviews from friends that went to a couple others that were offered

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Great employees all over the ship

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Very clean and many signs to let you know where all the amenities were located

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Always clean and our person "Ricardo" that cleaned our room was awesome. He always talked to us in the hallway and asked if anything else was needed.

Ship tip

DO NOT order the bottled water. Not very good at all. Also, check your entire printout for the cost of the cruise. The wife and I could not believe that we were charged a little over $300 for the 2 twin beds to be pushed together along with extra pillows and blankets. This should be standard in the price of the room, not an added price. Kind if ridiculous in my opinion. Also, DO NOT get the onboard communication package that is offered for $9.95 per person, DOES NOT work very well at all. All my friends that got it and hated it. We all requested to be refunded for it.

Welcome to the wonderful world of cruising. Appreciate your very detailed and informative review. Glad you enjoyed your first cruise. Thaw others have already mentioned the $300 charge, I hope you get that settled.

Separate daily automatic hotel and food server gratuities are pretty standard for all cruises departing from North America, because including them would increase the sales tax owed to the government and charged to you if otherwise rolled into the fare amount. With that said NCL does have a higher than it's competitor's rates for the auto-gratuities. Also I would check on that extra charge for $300, as no cruise line charges for extra linens nor reconfiguring the bed arrangement, not even the nickel & dime king NCL. More likely than not it's a beach/pool towel purchase charge for failure to return the same number of towels to the pickup point, either your cabin or the towel hut, when if fact you did turn over used ones at a differing location to the ships crew.

We’ve had the bed configuration changed on NCL cruises in the past and they definitely don’t charge for it, I would check if the $300 was definitely for that! Glad you had a great cruise apart from that though!

You sure the $300 charge wasn’t the gratuities? These are standard across the cruise industry for the tip pool for most employees to be shared. Like the cooks, dishwashers, bar backs, housekeeping etc. It doesn’t just go to your room attendant.

You should dispute that $300 charge - I have never, ever been charged to move beds or get extra linens.
