Review summary

A wonderful week had by all six of us ranging from 10-41. Lots to do and would have had more to do if the weather would have cooperated with us. The specialty dining was great! The staff were excellent towards us and we really did enjoy our week. I will say they should have more shows as an option and I would prefer a ship with a bigger pool, but still overal a great time had!

Embarkation

Embarkation was perfect. We didn’t have a long line and process was fast and easy. We got on no problems.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The specialty dinners we had were fabulous! Our least favorite was actually Ocean Blue but even at that it wasn’t bad, just good, not excellent. Our kids really enjoyed the buffet. Lots of different options. Same every day, but there were other options to break it up.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
I was disappointed that the free falling slides weren’t open at all and the rest of the outside activities were only open here and there, though partly due to weather. The pool is very small and they don’t allow kids in it which was very disappointing since I had to sit in the kids pool apart from adults.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Burn the floor was fantastic! The Mystic band was good and Othello, the main singer is a sweetheart! They had lots of trivia segments and game shows.

Children's Programs

4 out of 5
Our teenager in entourage loved it. She spent a lot of time in there and enjoyed her time. Our 10 year old joined the dolphins and also enjoyed it very much.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Most everyone was very friendly. Everyone on the ship is working really hard all the time, dealing with people complaining and constantly asking for things.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The cleanliness to me, was on point. There is always someone cleaning something. I imagine it’s hard to keep up with people that just leave cups laying around all over the place at all times but they do a really good job at keeping it very clean and they are constantly wiping rails. The parts of the design I wasn’t crazy about was the pool area, very tight and small plus I didn’t like that my kids couldn’t be in the pool with me on the side of the music, even though you can still hear it on the kids side. And the 8th level wasn’t the greatest to me simply because I don’t like the smell of smoke. But I do appreciate that they placed the cigar lounge on the same level of the casino so there’s not multiple levels smelling like tobacco. But even at that, when dining in La Cucina, we couldn’t smell the smoke/tobacco, so it was still ok.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The room was clean and stayed clean all week. Our room steward visited our room at least twice a day. He was great! The room itself was nice, much like all cabins. The only thing that could have been better was our view. We were right to the side of the bridge so part of our view was obstructed but we still had absolutely beautiful views. And being at the front of the boat, when the seas got rough, we felt every bit of it. But that’s not the ships fault. We didn’t know any better.

Ship tip

Everyone is working really hard on the ship. It’s best to go with the flow and make the best of everyday. The weather cannot be avoided whatever it is. Relax and have fun and remember the crew work hard and be NICE and patient.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

We love Miami. We explored on our own both before and after the cruise. Prior to we spent the day at south beach and always love that beach. After we went to little Havana and then Dania beach in Ft. Lauderdale and had a wonderful day!

San Juan, Puerto Rico

We loved the port and all the history, however we didn’t get a full day there. The ship didn’t arrive until 5 so we only had about an hour of daylight. We took a tour of the island and it only cost us $15pp. It was a great tour and we learned a lot. Our tour guide Free Willy was great!!

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

5 out of 5
We LOVED St. Thomas! The beaches are absolutely beautiful! We took a taxi $8pp to Coki Beach and spent the day out there and it was absolutely gorgeous. Tons of different fish and clear turquoise water with soft white sand. We couldn’t ask for more. We initially had plans to go to a different island to snorkel but things happen and we were glad they did! We had a wonderful day at Coki beach!

Tortola, British Virgin Islands

A beautiful island! We zip lined and got some breathtaking views of the entire island. Gorgeous! We always enjoy zip-lining and the guides were awesome! Then we had some local food from Yo Mama food truck and it was EXCELLENT!!! We definitely recommend! We would have liked to check out their beaches but time got away from us. Next time 😉 Otherwise another wonderful HOT day.

Disembarkation

Easy. Had to work our way through a long line but whatever, not a big deal. Everyone is trying to get off at the same time. We could have waited and gone to have breakfast one last time but we chose not to. It was a very easy process.

Thanks for sharing your cruise.

Thanks for the review. I have to admit, since my kids are now adults, I appreciate the adult only pool rules. Nothing worse than a "Code Brown" to shut down the pool fun.
