Because of the cancellation of the two ports, we received a $100 compensation to expend that money during same trip. It really did not compensated the level of disappointment that we had. In this cases the management team should what something planning. More activities, a meeting to explain what the option was taken or at least be sure that the communication was properly delivered. My recommendation will be. Not to cruise during the hurricane season in The Caribbean.
Embarkation
1 out of 5
Average, nothing special at all.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Slow and cool food at the Churrascaria option. The cafeteria was OK but not changes same food / menu all days.
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
Dirty pools and not good looking or clean places. Might be because of all the people in the ship for several days.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
There were only to shows Edge of Rock (bad) and Burn the Floor (excellent) saved the day. The third day in the ship.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The personnel always at front of the management staff. These people really work to make the guest happy.
Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
It is a small place but it was sufficient for me and my wife. Were small size. However, the TV is really old and the programs options are even worse. Specially when the ship does not have many options as an entertainment. It is time for the cruise company to replace their obsolete TV systems.
Ship tip
Be sure that you really know what the Beverage package include. To paid for a botter of water $6 each you need to drink is really hard. Even more when is prohibit to bring your own water.
We were schedule to visit 4 ports and we end visiting 2. The other two were cancelled. One in very quick decision on the ship captain (Saint Thomas) and Nassau because of an medical emergency of one of the passenger. I understood this one. Whoever, we were in the ship for 3 consecutive days with not options. Not additional activities were planned. The management team acted liked nothing had happened.
Im thinking how lucky you were to have a week on the ship... a few weeks ago, my cruise was completely cancelled due to hurricane... what a bummer that was!
I think some blind faith that the captain has a better understanding of weather conditions than you, and recognizing that it is weather, not NCL, accepting that, you probably would have had a good time. Me?, just put me on a ship, I’m happy, excursions, islands, food, shows, are all bonus!!!
Totally agree with JT1962. Definitely cruising is not for you. I had to laugh that a couple of ports were canceled and your response to not cruise during hurricane season. Most people know when hurricane season is and if they decide to still cruise that’s their problem if something comes up. We are cruising in November, still hurricane season. If we miss any ports because of weather I will still love being on the cruise . Cruising is the best vacation ever!
It definitely sounds like cruising is not for you or possibly not even travel since you did not seem happy with anything. Most people would be happy to not be at work and be on vacation. Itineraries can be and are changed for a variety of reasons. If a specific port is of extreme importance to you, your best option is to travel there directly without depending on the conditions being perfect for the ship to dark when you arrive. Otherwise, you should have a comprehensive travel insurance policy that will reimburse you for ports that are missed.
