Dry I made the mistake of choosing the dinning package instead of the drink package by GrandmaPopcorn

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The ship is lovely. Lots of places to sit we a view everywhere. The crew was funny, friendly, entertaining and very helpful. Latitudes offering was disappointing though I felt it was cheap, Carnival & Royal Caribbean treat returning guest a little better.

Sailed on the Bliss over... by mysticcruiser

Ship: Norwegian Bliss

Sailed on the Bliss over the Thanksgiving holiday 11/17-11/24. The ship is big, new and beautiful! The staff was friendly and all areas were clean and very nice. Really enjoyed the speciality restaurants Teppanyaki, La Cucina, and Cagney’s . Q’s was ok. 🤷🏼‍♀️. The main dining rooms and The Local restaurant was very nice and the menu’s was very good. We had a enjoyable time and loved the Art Auctions 👍🏼😄. We were able to take the “Behind the scenes” tour as Platinum members and it was interesting. The ship was at full capacity so yes, it was crowded but we had a enjoyable time. Looking forward to the next cruise on the Escape next year 👍🏼😄

Blissful Thanksgiving by kdlovescruising

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Fun time with family. This is our annual Thanksgiving cruise with family and close friends. There were 27 of us ranging in age from 12 - 92. My immediate family (husband & daughter) loved our week on the Bliss. The ship is beautiful. The Observation Lounge is a must visit. And yes, like other reviewers there are people who are sleeping on the chairs. However, it is quite easy to do as you relax on the chaise lounges and view the ocean. Never had a bad meal. We tried a few of the specialty restaurants (Le Bistro, Q, Food Republic) and they were all excellent. Others in our family tried Los Lobos and Ocean Blue and raved the food. I wanted to try Cagney's and Teppanyaki but couldn't get a reservation all week. The Cruise Director was very entertaining/funny. He did a wonderful job hosting the "game shows" held in the Atrium which did get congested. Area is not the best for holding the shows. I would recommend sailing on the Bliss.

Nice Repositioning Cruise by Dana808

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

We love this form of travel with family. It’s a great way to travel and visit without being on top of each other. Family dinners make it easy to connect throughout your trip. The app makes it easy to text during the cruise to family members (as long as the seniors in the group download the app!! 👍🏽)

Never again by maasmechelen

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

Bad food except for specialty dining. Ports are for industrial use with containers and chemical plants, no cruise port. Had to pay to get from these ports to the cruise port. Not possible to book excursions onboard , where sold out. Only old and disabled people onboard. Everything like cappuccino or yoga class and cart ride was paying extra. It was very crowded could get a sun bed at pool ( very small. Pool ) Nothing positive about this cruise.

Amazing cruise!! by Kansascathy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

It was an amazing 14 day cruise. The food was outstanding. We had 6 specialty dinners each. Ate 3 of them at Cagney's, 1 Italian, 1 French & 1 Mexican. They were all outstanding. We ate most of our meals in Savor or Taste as they have the same menu as the Manhattan Room. It was just less noisy in the smaller dining rooms & you got quicker service.

OK cruise - loved Mexico! by Roseyrox

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Mexico

The ship was sold out! I didn't like the fact that you had to walk so far to get an elevator. There were 2 shows - Havana and Jersey Boys. Havana was just OK, but Jersey Boys were OUTSTANDING!! Highly recommend you see Jersey Boys, but could slip Havana. Also saw comedy act and he was very funny.

Ship: Norwegian Bliss

This ship was amazing! The food was excellent and had a wide variety. We tried the steak house, the Q, and teppanyaki. They where all excellent and gave you plenty of food. The mashed potatoes in the steak house where the best! The staff and servers were out of this world. They where friendly, attentive and always willing to help you. Our cruise director was a lot of fun. There is a lot of things to do around the ship..cocos is a must try as well and very good. We saw Havana and Jersey Boys, both where good! Go karts are a lot of fun and laser tag as well! All in all very fun experience.

Just returned from the 7... by K87Seas

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Bliss

Just returned from the 7 day Mexican Riviera on the Bliss and have to say I was quite underwhelmed. The interior of the ship is very dark. They’ve packed in as many state rooms as possible so the interior has almost no natural light. The crew seemed a lot less attentive than I typically see. I know Bliss launched in April so perhaps they are all tired and coming to the end of their contract. Dining room meals were mediocre. Drinks were very watered down. The Havana show was a disaster- skip it. Some things I really enjoyed were The Observation Deck on 15, bathrooms are quite spacious, Q - both the food and The Greg White band are great. Jersey Boys was great- very similar to the Vegas show. Prohibition is not to be missed. Had a nice time, but this cruise & experience on Bliss has cemented Royal Caribbean as my favorite line.

We just got off the... by Pattx

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Bliss

We just got off the Bliss yesterday. After all the negative comments on here, I was a bit apprehensive. Fortunately, I didn’t have any problems or complaints that others have. Here is my take on the cruise/ship. We had a great time! The ship is beautiful, and even though there are 4000 passengers, I never felt crushed or even crowded. Yes, the front elevators were crowded after a show in the theatre, but we just walked outside to the back elevators and had no problems. Most days our normal wait times were only a few minutes. Food - we never ate in the Garden Cafe so I can’t speak to that. We mainly ate at Taste, Savor, Manhattan Room or The Local. Some food was better than other, but I never found anything I couldn’t/ wouldn’t eat and ate a lot of delicious food. I highly recommend the eggs Benedict for breakfast. We ate at 3 specialty restaurants- Cagney, Teppanyaki & Le Bistro. Le Bistro was our favorite while Cagneys was our least favorite, but still good. Teppanyaki was also delicious. Shows - we saw Havana, Jersey Boys & Beatlemania. Our group of six thought we could have skipped Havana. Jersey Boys was great and we also really enjoyed Beatlemania. Our group of 6 ranged in age from 66-74, so not surprising that we enjoyed the last 2 shows more. We didn’t see any other shows. Activities - we did not try any of the on board activities, but didn’t notice long lines or crowds. It could be we weren’t around during those times Observation lounge - our favorite spot on ship. I had read the reviews about this place being too crowded with people sleeping in all the chairs. I didn’t find this to be true. Yes, there were several people sleeping in the lounge chairs throughout the day, but it never prevented our group from finding 2 tables together where we could relax. If you are with a group, I highly recommend using the NCL app to communicate. For $10, you can call and text others with the app. Great way to stay in touch. Rooms - our group had both balcony and mini-suite rooms. They were about the same size as other balcony & mini-suite rooms we have used on other NCL cruises. My only disappointment was that the slot an blackjack tournaments that used to cost $20 were now $50. We passed on both. But that certainly did not ruin my cruise. Sorry this was so long, but wanted to let everyone know that it’s a great ship and was a great vacation. I do believe most time your mindset will determine your enjoyment of a cruise. I was determined to have a great time and we did!

Bliss is quite lovely, and... by trivimp

Ship: Norwegian Bliss

Bliss is quite lovely, and now one of my favorite ships. She never felt crowded, even with a completely full sailing on Halloween week. Sure, we would wait for an elevator once in a while when a show had just let out, but that's the nature of the thing. At all other times, I never had trouble finding a lounger or a seat at a bar. The Observation Lounge is a beautiful & uniquely designed space. We liked to watch the sunset from the bar there, it was just gorgeous. The bar can be loud, but the rest of the lounge is a serene space, perfect for a quiet retreat. The Thermal Spa is large, with lots of features. I spent many relaxing hours enjoying the therapy pool, the saunas, and those wonderful heated lounges. Service was excellent. Our room steward was on point all week, the bartenders were all fabulous, and Guest Services was helpful & polite when we needed to speak with them. Entertainment was top-notch as well. Jersey Boys was as good as everyone says. I really enjoyed ¡Havana! too... it's more of a song&dance revue than a full Broadway-style show, so some in my group were complaining that it was boring or had no plot... take it for what it is, it's quite well done & the performers are fabulous. We also loved Happy Hour Prohibition, a cabaret-style show that was a little silly, a little naughty, and a ton of fun! Comedians were a little flat, but still entertaining enough. Loved Bliss & would sail her again in a minute.

a little disappointing by P2T

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Mexico

The Ship overall was GREAT! I loved everything about it. We were disappointed because a Tropical storm and a Hurricane prevented us from traveling to Mexico and the cruiselines took us North to San Francisco, San Diego, And Ensenada which in my option the two distanction are equal. Although I understand the reason for the change in the itinerary I felt that the cruiselines could given us notice and the option to not take the cruise. We were notified one hour after the ship left the port. You would think the cruise lines would offer some sort of comfort the there clients but nothing was offered. I took a group and the actions of the cruise line has cost me future clients.

Amazing Ship, Mexican Rivera Non Existent. by edmgeek

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Mexico

Overall, we enjoyed the ship very much but our course was changed at the last minute and we didn't go to even one port that we paid for due to weather. Felt like I didn't get what I paid for. They did have excellent service and the drinks were strong but I felt it wasn't the vacation we signed up for. What a shame too because it would have been perfect otherwise.

Mexican Riviera Cruise turned California Coastal Cruise by winonajosephine

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Mexico

I was so beyond excited to go on my first cruise ever!!! We were celebrating my best friend's 40th birthday and another friend of ours 39th birthday. Four couples. All eight of us totally excited.... Until we were let down. We are all from southern California, about an hour and a half after leaving port we were told we would be on a California coastal cruise. Something I would NEVER spend thousands of dollars on!! We planned and saved for almost a year and had to wait to get the time off for this cruise and having the itinerary changed once off-shore made our entire cruise less than mediocre. When looking at the path on channel two from our stateroom, it appears we never even attempted to go south. We should have been given the option to get on the boat or to cruise later or to get a refund. It affected our and our cruise mates' attitudes putting a damper on the entire week, including having to be on board with sometimes drunk and surly people who were very disappointed, making us have to constantly make the best of every situation we encountered. We feel we were cheated out of our vacation. To put salt in our wounds, when we got home we saw news articles and facebook posts that a princess cruise that was supposed to have the same itinerary as us, they traveled to Cabo, Puerto Vallarta and came back. I also hear Cabo was not ever touched with bad weather. We never even tried the water slides due to the cold! We were not consulted or even asked our opinion on the ports that were selected in the change and we were never offered the opportunity to not board! We are from Southern California! We could have easily made our own way to Catalina or Disneyland from the port and had a wonderful time and been reimbursed for the cruise, which we would have then used at another time. During the better part of a year as we planned for this cruise we were told over and over again that Norwegian was the BEST cruise line. The BEST service, the BEST food and the BEST rewards program to get points on. Everyone we spoke to was so excited that we were to be going on the Norwegian BLISS! The biggest, and newest ship on the best cruise line. We got home to questions of how our trip was and instead of an excited response, our response was … It was okay. We had to go to Guest Services every day of the cruise because of one problem or another. We were there so frequently trying to communicate our needs, things charged to the wrong room, Misunderstandings on our dinning package, that the workers knew our (my best friend and myself)’s room numbers!! A lot of things were well done, and a majority of the staff was great. But we felt let down overall. The food was fantastic for my boyfriend and I – we ate at The Garden Café, The Local, Teppanyaki, The Q, Cagney’s, Le Bistro, Taste & The Manhattan. We thoroughly enjoyed the full experience of the restaurants except the night in the Manhattan. My best friend (the birthday girl, in room 10806) found a HUGE – BLACK hair all intertwined in her Prime Rib. She was so disgusted by it, she had tears in her eyes. They were courteous and brought her another meal but it had already gone too far and she couldn’t eat it. The ship was often times superb, but areas were overly crowded because people were not going ashore, we stayed in colder waters or weather when we could have cruised south and made better use of warmer weather! Now, we feel utterly taken advantage of, and we may not ever cruise again - which is sad because we clearly saw that IF the cruise had gone well we probably would have been customers for life, the ship was beautiful, most of the staff was great, we liked our mini-suite, etc., but there was no effort made to go above and beyond after the itinerary was changed. No hosted parties on shore, or on the ship, so many places we wanted to see and enjoy were roped off for special events during the entire week, we were made to feel like sub-standard lower tier guests aboard a ship above our class

Awful and non transparent. by egillespie

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Mexico

Due to a hurricane we were rerouted to San Francisco, San Diego and Encenada. I understand safety but captain waited until be were all on board and briefly had set sail when he let us know we were not going to any of our destinations. We planned this trip for over a year, could have been transparent from the beginning. Don't get any spa services because you will leave feeling worse as staff point out all your flaws and try to sell, sell, sell products to you at the expense of your self esteem.

The Norwegian Bliss by moreoflove

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Mexico

Great ship new and really well done. Waterfront has ample seating. Blue loungers. Perfect for lovers. If seating is hard to find walk to the other side of the ship port side you will find shade and more seating Ocean blue a very romantic restaurant. We were able to get a beautiful window seat. The architecture and ceiling detail was eye-catching. One of the most lauded meals was the lobster pot pie. It was pretty good, but I wasn’t as impressed as most people. The clams were spectacular. The clam chowder wasn’t as good as I would have hoped. I like the cream a little thicker, but flavor-wise it was authentic. Los Lobos was my favorite restaurant. I love Mexican food and I found the dishes here to be authentic and delicious. the fresh guacamole made at the table was some of the best guacamole I’ve ever tasted. The mole chicken enchiladas were perfect and the chef paired roasted chili peppers as the side ‘Things we didn’t like Because of the green initiative, there were no straws So be sure to bring your own if you don’t want to put your lips on cups The sports bar service was very spotty. We went one night around midnight and ordered coffee it came cold. One day we were there right at shift change and it took almost an hour for someone to take our order The observation area was almost always full. People would come down and save spaces and be gone for hours. Full review at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zMUvo2cmir8

Best shows I’ve ever seen on a cruise. Bars are great to hang out; lots of venues and options. Taste and Savor are the way to go for a couple. Centrum activities are good; fun to watch from 2 levels of the ship. Drop away slide and race cars were super fun!!
