Review summary

We just got off the Bliss yesterday. After all the negative comments on here, I was a bit apprehensive. Fortunately, I didn’t have any problems or complaints that others have. Here is my take on the cruise/ship. We had a great time! The ship is beautiful, and even though there are 4000 passengers, I never felt crushed or even crowded. Yes, the front elevators were crowded after a show in the theatre, but we just walked outside to the back elevators and had no problems. Most days our normal wait times were only a few minutes. Food - we never ate in the Garden Cafe so I can’t speak to that. We mainly ate at Taste, Savor, Manhattan Room or The Local. Some food was better than other, but I never found anything I couldn’t/ wouldn’t eat and ate a lot of delicious food. I highly recommend the eggs Benedict for breakfast. We ate at 3 specialty restaurants- Cagney, Teppanyaki & Le Bistro. Le Bistro was our favorite while Cagneys was our least favorite, but still good. Teppanyaki was also delicious. Shows - we saw Havana, Jersey Boys & Beatlemania. Our group of six thought we could have skipped Havana. Jersey Boys was great and we also really enjoyed Beatlemania. Our group of 6 ranged in age from 66-74, so not surprising that we enjoyed the last 2 shows more. We didn’t see any other shows. Activities - we did not try any of the on board activities, but didn’t notice long lines or crowds. It could be we weren’t around during those times Observation lounge - our favorite spot on ship. I had read the reviews about this place being too crowded with people sleeping in all the chairs. I didn’t find this to be true. Yes, there were several people sleeping in the lounge chairs throughout the day, but it never prevented our group from finding 2 tables together where we could relax. If you are with a group, I highly recommend using the NCL app to communicate. For $10, you can call and text others with the app. Great way to stay in touch. Rooms - our group had both balcony and mini-suite rooms. They were about the same size as other balcony & mini-suite rooms we have used on other NCL cruises. My only disappointment was that the slot an blackjack tournaments that used to cost $20 were now $50. We passed on both. But that certainly did not ruin my cruise. Sorry this was so long, but wanted to let everyone know that it’s a great ship and was a great vacation. I do believe most time your mindset will determine your enjoyment of a cruise. I was determined to have a great time and we did!

I posted one of the I am worried reviews given our experience on the Breakaway. Your comments about a cruise is is what you make it to be, mindset, are so right on. We have observed so many people having a bad time over nothing while we loved our time. Being used to the smaller ships we did not have to book ahead of time for restaurants or entertainment, ever, there was always space a available. We will change our mind set to have a good time and not worry about eating in totally booked specialty restaurants. We also will skip the garden cafe for breakfast and do the main restaurants. Most importantly we will have a positive mindset and realize that everything is as it is and only we can control our happines Thanks for you great review!

You can’t book the Beatles show and their venue is not very big. But they did add a couple of shows in the big theater, so plenty of room for everyone. We did book the other 2 shows before we boarded. Also booked the specialty restaurants before we boarded. Happy to answer any & all questions as best I can. The $10 for using the app doesn’t require an internet package. It worked very well, but can only use on the ship. Great for groups.

Great review and Thanks for sharing! My question if you do the $10 for NCL app to text and call, do you still need the internet package?

Alot of reviews you just have to take with a grain of salt. Some people are just miserable. If they stop on the way to the ship to get a cup of coffee and they want Splenda when all they have is Sweet n Low, their whole vacation is destroyed. Same goes for those that paint a rosy picture about everything. Anyone who cruises knows that none are perfect. You take the good with the bad. Your review is a more realistic approach to life on board. Thank You
