The service was so bad and that is what most peopel look forward to on a cruise. We will look for another cruise line to give us the service we not only paid for but deserve.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
The only reason they didn't get perfect was that they took a picture of my son with his hat on and that is not allowed to board so he had to go all the way back to retake the photo causing us a 45 minute delay in getting onboard the ship. They should have known to have told him to take off his hat.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Food was fair at best. None of the dining options were stellar.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Serioulsy, you can only play trivia or bingo so many times. Get some new games. It was too cold to swim or use the go carts.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Make sure you see Jersey Boys - it really was the highlight of the crusie (sadly).
Children's Programs

The program was excellent and the grand kids loved it!
Service and Staff
2 out of 5
This is where I was most disappointed. The staff and crew were indifferent barely acknowledging we were their guest onboard the ship. When we disembarked and then re-embarked they ignored all of us coming and going. On the Joy they had celebrations and characters taking pictures with us. This crew - nothing. There was apparently an outbreak of Covid onboard the ship that I learned about later. None of the crew in the outlets encouraged the guests to wash their hands - on the Joy they had crew singing about it. We had a really bad experience in the Spa and tried to tell guest services about it and they could have cared less becuase the spa is operated by a 3rd party. We even went to customer service for NCL and they gave us a $50 onboard credit for our next cruise. Like that was a sufficient resolution to the embarassment and humiliation we suffered at the hands of the Spa employees. The cabin steward was amazing and there were one or two other standouts but overall - I will probably not sail NCL again.

No other comments here. Our cabin steward was incredible though.
Cabin / Stateroom

We had a balcony cabin which was pretty nice. It was cold outside on a cruise ot alaska but the view was totally worth the price especially when viewing the Dawes glacier
shore exursion was overpriced and underdelivered. We did the whale watching and the captain did nothing to really find them - we watched the same three gray whales for two hours. very disappinting!
This was actually a very surprising easy to disembark experience. We got the baggage service from cabin to airport service and it was flawless. We also got the shuttle to the airport and it was perfect as well.
Reading these reviews makes me truly glad that I went on Bliss postCOVID inJanuary 2022, when the population onboard was only 1,300 people. That meant that we go a level of service that you didn't get, unfortunately. Like the singing "twins" in the buffet, and the "Washy Washy" song at the entranceb encouraging us to wash our hands and the dining staff being very attentive. Maybe on a smaller ship should be your next cruise.
