Review summary

My cruise met expectations. The port times were too short unfortunately. Entertainment was great but food could have been slightly better. Had a great time.

Embarkation

Was a lot of confusion on where to go to check in once on the ship

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
3 and 1/2 maybe. Buffet was overcrowded, especially at breakfast. Luckily it was probably the warmest Alaskan cruise on record so sitting outside was not an issue. Most mornings we didn’t even bother looking for a table or ate in the observation lounge which was quite nice by the way. Food was pretty much always the same and eggs were never very warm. Coffee was pretty bad. Ate at Cagney Steak and Ocean Blue for specialty restaurants. Really no better than the main dining rooms. The Local … a pub… was kind of nice. Enjoyed that venue.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Go Karts where fun. The pool was great on the Seattle days. Temp in 80s. The band SIGLO really rocked out. The Beatles were fantastic and Jersey Boys was good too. Didn't have time to do much else. With the drink package we needed a nap every afternoon.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The Beatles and Jersey Boys were great. SIX was ok. SIGLO was a fun cover band in the atrium and the pool.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Staff was nice and polite. Bartenders quick and friendly save a couple. Received doubles twice without asking which was annoying and was even charged for one without being informed. Annoying that rooms were not cleaned til mid to late afternoon.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Very clean ship. I liked the layout. Took the stairs always so won’t complain about the slow elevators. Loved the observation lounge. Made the trip for me. Such a great space. Do need some more buffet space though.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cabin was great. Nice balcony. Good layout except getting by between bed and tv a bit tight.

Ship tip

Bring your patience. There are always 4000 people in your way, every where you go

Ports of call

Seattle, Washington

4 out of 5
3rd St is a bit dicey.

Sitka, Alaska

3 out of 5
Really not much to see

Juneau, Alaska

5 out of 5
Didn’t really see much of Juneau. Went on great whale watch and salmon bake. Make sure you walk down to the waterfall and see the salmon spawning. Quite a site

CRUISE ENDICOTT ARM & DAWES GLACIER

4 out of 5
Nice glacier. Closer would have been nice.

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

4 out of 5
Again did excursion. No time to see much. Did the Jeeps. Not sure it it was worth it. Not much to see with talk trees on both sides

KETCHIKAN (WARD COVE), ALASKA

3 out of 5
Nice big gift shop. Nice area to walk around. Didn’t make it into Ketchican proper

Victoria, British Columbia

3 out of 5
Nice sites. Less than 3 hours though.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Got off quite smooth. Bags delivered directly to airport if you choose that option.

The observation lounge is my favorite part of the Bliss, too! The buffet totally gets chaotic and busy. For breakfast, did you ever try going downstairs to Taste or Savor? A friend gave me that tip a few years ago and it turned out to be SUCH a better way to start my mornings -- a nice calm breakfast in the dining room instead of the crazy buffet.

Seems that Norwegian has cut port times
