Review summary

We've been on many NCL cruises and this wasn't one of the top ones. Was disappointed with may factors of the cruise. Too many people, and it just didn't seem up to par as the ones taken prior to Covid.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Lengthy, but okay.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Loved Ocean Blue, it's whole main lobster & whole meal, however, many of the desired reservation times were booked, so couldn't get in any sooner than the last night. The Italian was awesome and the main & buffet was great.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
The only ones we could get into were the wine tasting. It said no reservations required, but found out you had to be on a list. Most desired times were taken.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Loved the shows, however, we tried several times to get into the Beatles one at the Cavern it was always full. If you're going to have a popular show like this, have it in the theater so there's room for everyone. Once again, no reservations, just first come, first serve. In every case you would have to get there 2 hours ahead!

Children's Programs

We're seniors.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Our steward was excellent, Arnel(Cabin #12114), however, some yet friendly, were hard to understand and were not clear on information. Bar tenders had a limited knowledge on Martini selections.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Our cabin was too far forward, however, all the venues were okay to accomidate.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
It was good, clean, and good size bathroom/shower for a balcony, however wasn't happy with our location because of not being close to the elevators. But the rocking of the ship was nice at night. Storage good. TV channels could use some help. And, I miss the turn down we would get in the evening.

Ship tip

Get to the venues early on those that do not require reservations. On a large ship with so many people, it's hard to get into different activities and entertainment. Otherwise, on those requiring reservations, book early! That goes for the specialty restaurants, too! Also, have the dining rooms stay open for breakfast later, 9:30 is too early to close.

Ports of call

San Pedro (Los Angeles), California

We used to live down in LA, so took no excursions. Just a good location to port out of.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

We took the boat trip to the Arch (with Shore Excursions) and our guide was great and the boat driver was phenominal! He kept us safe manuvering the boat away from others to get close & good pics.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Since we'd been to PV many times we chose the Luxury Day at a Resort. Too expensive for the time time we had. RUI is beautiful, but we still like our resort Paradise Village.

Mazatlan, Mexico

Topless bus. We made a report to the NCL cruise desk that our driver was drunk. My husband noticed more than me, that his reckless driving proved to be so. Many others noticed it, too. However, the tour was good and the shopping.

Ensenada, Mexico

Highlights & shopping was good, just not enough time.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
We chose to embark with our luggage because we had an early flight. However, the way they moved us around the ship to get off seemed unnecessary. Glad to find a taxi to get us to the airport quickly, thoujgh, and made our flight on time.
