Review summary

We were set to do Alaska with our kids in a year and a half, we will use a different cruise line. They do not cater well to familes woty 5-12 year olds we had an 8 and 10 year old.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We bought the Priority Access for $250, we walked straight to counter and onto the ship without any delays.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
if you want to eat in less than 90min buffet is only option. No speciality package available for kids, offer kids menu but it is generic kids meal worse than buffet.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Read fine print, most offer packages but somethings require a different package to get it as an add on (laser tag) yet not all kids are tall enough for go carts. Also Spa had broken (partially functioning) steam room entire cruise.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
I will point out that you cant do tge early show if you wabt to drop your kids off at the children program, no time deconfliction basically dropping of kids means you don't make show.

Children's Programs

3 out of 5
Kids loved staff and activities, availability and timing made it hard to sync with other activities, older siblings can self checkout but are unable to take sibling with them.

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
There were a few stand out individuals, but for the most part there did not appear to be a culture focused on seevice.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Nice ship, good layout, elevator efficiency was horrid.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin was sufficient for family of four

Ship tip

I would say to check out art auctions

Not a good experience, probably a first timer since they were shocked at the dinner times in the MDR. Probably should see a real travel agent instead of the online booking agents.

It might be a bit of a search to find a ship that caters to children on an Alaskan cruise. It has always been mostly adults.
