Review summary

My husband and I loved the Bliss. It was very easy to get around, had many restaurant choices, and had different activities to do. Unfortunately, my mother in law had passed away and we needed to disembark in Barbados to attend her funeral. NCL met with us and attempted to find us a flight back to Albany NY. However, they could not find us a flight that would get us there in time. Thinking we were not able to make the service, we told family and my daughter went online and found us a flight out of Barbados that would get us home 1 1/2 days before the service. Not sure why NCL could not locate this flight. However, they were very helpful with disembarking. They had someone take our luggage off the ship and brought it through immigration/customs and then stayed until we found a taxi to go to the airport.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
It was slightly slower than the last time we had cruised with NCL. In all, we had drinks in our hands by noon.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
All were very good. Went to Garden Cafe, Taste (very good), Tappanyaki twice (excellent), Los Lobos (fair), Cagneys (Very good) and the Local (very good).

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Themed parties, thermal suite, Husband and I did a couple's massage (excellent)

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We enjoyed the group "Siglo." Enjoyed Dance through the Decades, Soul and Motown Dance Party, Nashville Nights and Lights.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Loved the bartenders in Spice H20, Our room steward, Gerland, was fantastic. Our room was always cleaned and one night, he decorated our stateroom to celebrate my husband's birthday.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
All common areas including the rest rooms were always clean. Despite being a large ship, I felt very comfortable walking around the ship. Places were easy to find. Elevators were not bad except when everyone was coming and going from deck 4 during the port of calls.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Plenty of storage room. The bed was comfortable. The cabin was clean when we arrived and it was kept that way by Gerland. The only downfall was that our bathroom had a bathtub which made getting into it a bit of a challenge since I had recently had a total knee replacement. It would be nice if I knew that ahead of time. Also, since it was a shower/tub combination, there were not any body jets as in the stand alone showers in the mini suites.

Ship tip

Enjoy yourself.

I am so sorry about your mother in law. That had to make matters worse, trying to get home. I am glad. it worked out to get y'all home in time. I would hope NCL would give you a "do over" under these circumstances.
