1st cruise on Bliss and would book it again. Will rethink Jan out of NYC in the future. A full ship but only felt crowded on embarkation day but only until dinner time. Observation Lounge on 15 forward is fantastic to have a light meal and a good full service bar. Did see a lot of people rudely laying full length on couches and napping for hours eliminating seating choices for guests. Family pool was over 6ft deep as pool was kept overfilled onto pool deck for entire cruise. No shallow end children or weak swimmers. Water slides in constant use but lines moved quickly. Great cruise and 14 days went too fast.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Platinum level. Arrived at 950. Security line long but fairly quick. Show your cruise docs to an attendant after security and ask for Platinum check-in. Had key card in hand in less than 5 minutes and seated with boarding group 1 and a fresh cup of coffee.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Breakfast in buffet on 4 days and dining room for the rest. All were very good. Coffee too strong, had to cut it with hot water. 7 specialty dinners all exceptional and the Manhattan Room rocked. No issues, no complaints.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Weather was not great. 3 days at sea coming and going with 5 of those days cold or cool with some rain. Did not do race cars or laser tag. Enjoyed empty pool deck on 2 port days.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Siglo, NCL house band very very good. Had the Atrium rocking. Jersey Boys rated a 5+ stars. The Beatles tribute is exceptional and must see in both the Cavern and Theater. Did not see Six or any comedy shows
Children's Programs
No children and very few on ship
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Did not see or experience anything but positive and friendly crew and staff.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Not a true 6,7, 8 waterfront experience anymore. No deck access on 6 and no shuffleboard for us geezers.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Deck 11 midship. Identical in size and configuration of similar NCL class ships. Clean with more than adequate storage.
Ship tip
Reserve your shows and specialty dining as soon as you can to eliminate any potential headaches. A lot of people trying to book same shows and dinners as you.
Port times were 4pm untill 11pm. Since this was midweek, almost nothing attractive for us. Had it been a weekend and been able to enjoy the night life and live music would have been preferred. Love San Juan, but not this time slot on Mon thru Thur.
Requested taxe service to The Ramp. This beach was recommended by a crew member from the Island. Not sure where taxi took us. $14 pp round trip that you pay up front and are given a voucher for return trip. Beach was nice but entering and exiting water was rocky and steep
Our favorite port. Taxi to Carlisle Bay. Sever beaches to choose from and all are clean with loungers, food and drink specials and on-site water spirts and activities
Arrived NYC 5am ish. Cleared for disembarkation at 715 and did easy walk off with our luggage and wad in our car at 737. CBP facial recognition very quick and easy
