Review summary

Awful, our vacation was ruined. Ship was over crowded, never less than 45 min wait for restaurants, all specialty restaurants were booked the first hour on board. Food was only good at the French restaurant. Buffet food always cold, but most of the time the only place you could get into. I think they added more rooms without increasing the size of any of the common areas. I was pushed and shoved repeatedly by unsupervised young people.

It was beautiful, however, booked a fishing trip that with travel time we actually got to fish very little time, about 2 hrs. The ship needs to stay in ports longer.

Victoria, British Columbia Did not visit port

only in port about 3 hours

Always wise to do your research before you book. You can book your speciality dining before you get on the ship. Between NCL website and these forums there shouldn’t be any surprises

Aren't kids usually back to school by late August or after Labor Day ? I guess if you want to be primarily kid free September, October and early December is the best time to cruise or vacation. Sorry the kids ruined your trip and ship was over the crowded.

I try not to cruise when kids are on vacation. The rest of the year is fine. I went on the Bliss last January and it was great!

Sorry you had a bed experience. I can’t imagine being in Alaska and not having a good time. An Alaskan cruise is primarily about the ports and excursions and not the ship. For longer time in the ports, try a one-way cruise instead of round-trip or an itinerary of 10 days or longer.

I can not imagine a cruise being ruined because of food. I would never go on a cruise during the months or weeks that kids are our of school if you dont want kids on board. Sad you thought your vacation was wrecked
