Review summary

Great experience. Better if you have made all the reservations so you are guaranteed for things you want to do. It is a big boat so expect the crowd so you won’t be disappointed

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Very smooth embarkation, NCL agents helped navigate what to do and where to go. The check in process is really quick.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Overall, a very nice experiencing with dining. A freestyle dining is a way to go. Many dining options (specialty and regular). The only recommendation would be for the buffet dining area (Garden Cafe) to remain open for some extended time (to accommodate passengers who just got back from excursion trips at night). A lot of time, several buffet stations were closed by 10 pm. Garden Cafe offers daily specials (prime rib, seafood night) but it was missing the ice carving or dessert showcase which other cruise ships normally offer.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
I did gocart race on the 19 deck; that was one of my highlight on board. Lasertag and waterslide are the other activities that are unique to NCL. The night entertainment, comedy are at par with other cruise ships.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The night entertainment (Jersey Boys, Havana) are great. Comedy shows are great (mostly due to the stand up commedians) but the club room they have them are rather small for a large (4000+ passengers). Other entertainment (by the pool and by atrium) are at par with other cruise ships.

Children's Programs

This was a trip for my wife and me.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Attentive, friendly and very accommodating.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
All around cleanliness, care about the need to sanitize yourself all the time (a lot of sanitizing stations around the boat).

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
A good size room for a mini suite, a large bathroom.

Ship tip

With the available no extra fee seat down dining as an options to the buffet (Garden Cafe), do try to maximize your time on the seat down dining (Manhattan, Savor, Taste). Less crowded, better service, can reserve multiple dining time in advance (and cancel them anytime you want) and you still can order multiple appetizers, entrees, desserts anyway you want. Also, do not miss spending time at the Observation Deck to enjoy some needed relaxation time (or snooze for a while) and atrium, where most of the short shows (bands, activities) are held. Escape G
