Review summary

Was so nice to do my first Alaskan cruise on the Bliss. Was a perfect combination. We had to ensure some rain in Ketchikan (expected in Alaska), but that didn't stop us from getting out and enjoying this cruise.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
No wait at all!!!Dropped bags off outside and checked in and probably was in my room within :15mins.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
So many choices! This ships has both inside and outside restaurants and bars so you can sit out on the deck and eat and drink if you like or stay inside. Eat one night at the Texan barbecue restaurant and it was so much food I couldn't eat all of it.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
There is so much to do on this ship. Ny favorites were the go-carts and taser tag. Both were out of this world fun. More relaxing was the observation lounge. So many times, I'd grab a bit to eat or drink and sit there and read, or talk, or just look out the huge windows. The lounge chairs and sofa's were so comfortable. So much to do on this ship and I didn't experience all of it.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Jersey Boys was excellent, probably the best show I've seen on a cruise ship. The other show and I can't even remember the name right now, wasn't so good.

Children's Programs

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
New young crew and everyone was so nice.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Brand spanking new.....new car smell. Spacious. Loved everything about. Would have never known 4,000+ people were on the ship, well, except during disembarkation.

Cabin / Stateroom

Ship tip

Utilize everything the ship has to offer. One note: make sure you sit down early and book a lot of your onboard activities and dining as spots fill up fast. Don't wait. Do it before hand or as soon as you get on the ship.

Disembarkation

Unfortunately I give this a lower rating and its really not NCL's fault. The line getting off the ship literally weaved and stretched around an entire deck. When we reached customs, the problem became apparent. 4,000 plus people on this ship and ONLY FOUR customs officials working. You would think that with this many people coming in all at once they'd have more workers.

Did Alaska on the Bliss September 15, loved it! We did ketchikan, skagway, juneau and Victoria, British Columbia. Did the sea plane ride to Taku Lodge, a bear was in the tree when we got there, best excursion we ever did on 4 cruises to Alaska. FYI, everything is expensive in Alaska but splurge and have fun, so worth it!
