Review summary

All in all, a wonderful cruise. A beautiful ship with an outstanding crew..

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation at 11:30 was smooth as silk. We were booked in a suite so we were whisked through very quickly. 15 to 20 minutes from arrival at the pier to our cabin.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We had breakfast delivered every morning from the expanded suite menu. It wasn’t very fast but it was hot, tasty and mostly accurate. They ran out of veggie links on the third day and forgot the jam on the last but no biggie. We eat a very light lunch so it was usually a salad or sandwich from the buffet which was always good. We never tried the hot buffet items. We ate dinner at our favourite specialty restaurant,Tamarind, on my husband’s birthday and it was fantastic as always. They presented him with a birthday cake for dessert (thankfully, no singing!) Every other night we ate at Club Orange and it was excellent. It was never too busy or noisy - such a nice change from the main dining room - and the servers were charming.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Not sure if the Neptune Lounge counts as an activity, but we really enjoyed it. The coffee and treats (some sugar-free) were excellent. The two concierges were lovely - they even brought a bottle of wine to our room on my husbands birthday 😊

Entertainment

3 out of 5
We book HAL for the entertainment but it was disappointing this time. Our favourite venue is BB Kings but they now share their space with Live at Lincoln Center. L@LC get the early shows and BB’s first show isn’t until 10:00pm. That’s late for us so we only made it to two shows which was a shame because they were a great band with two exceptional singers. The musicians at LC were excellent too but classical isn’t really our thing. We weren’t impressed by the musicians at Billboard on Board or the Rolling Stone room. Whoever is doing the auditioning needs to do better. We only went to one show at the main theatre and that was to see comedian Bengt Washburn. He was hilarious! Highly recommended!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Every staff member we met was excellent. All very helpful and genuinely friendly.

Ship Quality

Beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We loved our cabin! The Neptune suite was perfect for us. The bed was a true king size and exceptionally comfortable. I loved the vanity table with the lift-up lighted mirror and space to store cosmetics and an additional magnifying mirror. My husband loved the espresso machine! There was also a welcome bottle of champagne 😊 The bathroom was huge, with 2 sinks, a jetted tub and huge shower with 3 different shower types - overhead, wand and side jets. Large, premium quality towels and beautiful bathrobes. The balcony had a table for four and two comfortable lounge chairs. Our cabin stewards, Adhi and Sandi, were the best we’ve ever had - and we’ve been on more than 30 cruises!

Disembarkation

We waited in The Neptune Lounge until just before 10:00am, then rolled our bags out to immigration (we’re Canadian) which was barely a pause on our way to an Uber across the street.
