It was awesome and highly recommend it if anyone is thinking or has thought about taking this cruise to Alaska.
Embarkation

It was very organized and moved things along quickly.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The ship’s food areas were excellent along with all of the staff. They have everything that you could possibly want and more.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
I went to trivia at the Billboard piano lounge, two shows in the main stage theater, two friends enjoyed the spa and we went to the explorations cafe where we played cards that we brought with us. However, there were books to read, puzzles, scrabble, chess and other interactive games to play.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Absolutely enjoyed the BB King Club, Billboard Lounge piano bar and the Lincoln Center Stage entertainment. The singers and musicians were awesome!
Children's Programs
Didn’t do any.
Service and Staff

Everyone was so nice and helpful in anyway they could. I couldn't have asked for anyone better.
Ship Quality

Very beautiful ship design and decor. It was very clean and well-maintained. There were enough of signs everywhere to help you not to get lost.
Cabin / Stateroom

The suite was perfect! De-di kept it very clean and well stocked with bath essentials, ice and anything else we asked of him.
Very pretty city. I didn’t get to do anything here because my flight was real late getting me to my Airbnb. I will fly back to visit one day in the future.
Beautiful place with lots to see. We did two excursions: Mount Roberts Tramway which was nice and the store at the top had some really cool stuff. It was raining a little so couldn’t hike down the trail; the other excursion was seeing the Mendenhall Glacier & Evening Whale tour. The Glacier and waterfall were gorgeous. The meal on the Whale tour was great. We had reindeer sausage and jerky, salmon dip and salmon chowder along with other yummy appetizers. We dud see a few whales but they wouldn’t do flips out of the water much. Saw plenty tops, blow holes and tails. Saw some baby whales and sea-lions. We ate lunch at The Red Dog Saloon and I definitely recommend it.
This was my favorite stop. We did the White Pass Summit Scenic Railroad which was awesome! The scenery was very pretty. I highly recommend this trip. Then we did the Skagway Street Car City tour. This was a great tour. Explored the little town as being told a story of days old. We went to the lookout mountain point where you could see the ships and the whole town. We ate at the Red Onion Saloon and the food was great.
We did the Great Alaskan Lumberjack show which was very entertaining. The next excursion was the City Highlights, totems and creek street tour. This was a very nice place with great shops and interesting stories. We stopped by the Asylum bar for a snack.
Once again very organized and quick process. We did have 1st place of getting off of the boat for we had to go straight to the airport to catch our flight home
We were on Nieuw Amsterdam last March 2018. Not to Alaska but loved the ship and ports. Absolutely delicious food at buffet and MDR. The Dive-in had the best hamburgs ever, (better than Guy's)
The staff was exceptional especially in buffet and our cabin steward. Not a lot to do on the ship during the day but that's what the ports are for. Would definitely go on the Nieuw Amsterdam again.
