Review summary

If you want a calming, highly enjoyable adult cruise, this is it. The rooms and spaces have such an upscale feel, and the library is a beautiful room with views all around. If you're not a big drinker, you won't mind the long waits and feeling invisible at the Lido bar. One thing on this and my previous Holland America cruise is that these are without a doubt the most personal crew you will ever meet and they go out of their way to make you feel welcome and valued.

The specialty restaraunts were wonderful and they did a promotion when we got on board so it was only $65 each to dine in all 3. That said, if you dine in the steak house be very, very careful of the fine print. Also, who needs a 16 oz to 32 oz steak, really? We wound you up with one of us ordering the steak (which was superb) and the other ordered the king crab legs. There was more than enough of each to share. The Tamarind was exceptional. Again, watch the fine print. Wait staff was superb in all venues.

Onboard Activities

The shows were okay compared to our Norwegian Cruise last year, certainly not the same caliber or intensity and often hard to get a seat. The fitness center was full in the mornings with some of the equipment not fully functional. The Ocean View pool, stated as adult only did pretty well and was a far superior experience to what we had no Norwegian. That said, the stern adult tubs were rated for 6 people, cozy with just 2.

We don't have preteens. That said, there were a lot of very bored looking teenagers hanging around which resulted in a small issue when they filled the dance floor one night in the blues club.
