We Cruised late Feb early March. The cruise was awesome. Weather perfect 80 degrees F, sunny and little to no wind. We loved the ship and all the activities. Just remember that this line skews to the older ages and not lots of excitement. It's a value cruise and you have lots of time to make payments if you sign up.

Excellent embarkation. HAL has it down pat and is very efficient. Wait time was at a minimum but try to arrive early to get an early embarkation number.

Main dining room is very good with decent proportioned servings, We ate at the Pinnacle Grill (specialty) one night and it was superb. The setting was wonderful the service was professional. The Lido (buffet) was good and we loved the Asian area. We sensed that some of the leftovers from the Main dining room and Pinnacle Grill were filtered up to the Lido.
Onboard Activities

There are numerous computer 'Window' workshops, discussions in the Explorer Lounge, Casino, Swimming at 2 pools, There is a daily mass except for port days. Just remember the Holland America cruise lines seem to cater to an older crowd so night life isn't a party atmosphere.

Service & staff are excellent. It's obvious that they train them to accommodate cruisers.

Make sure you visit the Crows Nest for spectacular views.
Just got off this ship today... I liked the fact that this cruise was relaxed and not a crazy party ship... made the cruise relaxing and more enjoyable!
Been on the Nieu Amsterdam twice and great cruises both times. The bartender at the pool bar ( the one with the mermaid stools ) was outstanding and good entertainment. Nice clean ship and the crew was awesome.
I been in several of HAL vessels, never on this. And yes, the thing I like the most about this cruise line is that is for us, the seniors. No loud children ruining the halls at 11 pm. Lol.
