Very well done, all passengers moved on the ship effortlessly. The luggage was sorted into different categories that Holland America had made, and was easily available. The whole crew was there to greet you as you arrived.

The food was wonderful. Very wide range every night, lots of choices, and it was very very tasty.

Went to the theatre most nights. Enjoyed the fantastic B.B.King lounge and were treated to an exceptional performance by the singers.
We also attended the BBC show in the theatre that was jointly held by Planet Earth 2. This was spectacular.

Ship Quality

The whole ship is spotless. Every deck is clean and bright. The layout is easy to follow, and the design compared to the other cruise ships we saw was incredible. The Nieuw Amsterdam looked very regal and stately.
Cabin / Stateroom

Very clean. As soon as we left the stateroom, it was cleaned and refreshed by the crew. Absolutely perfect. The size was ample, and the comfort was outstanding.
Ship tip
Do it. Book as fast as you can to this majestic ship.
Do not, repeat, Do not, buy jewelry from a store called Plata Maya, it was situated right on the exit of the pier. My wife paid $300 U.S. for a ring and bracelet, that is broken at the time of writing, two days after we left the ship. They are crooks, they are cheats, and will almost physically grab you when you walk past. From the demeaning way they laughed and pointed at passengers from the ship, it was obvious they were making fun of anyone and everyone. Will never visit Cozumel, and probably Mexico ever again.
Our luggage was left outside the stateroom door before midnight, and the next time we saw it, we were ashore. We left the ship right on time. Excellent.
